recently on Capital FM's Takeover where they were interviewed and played
some of their favorite tunes. Duncan said during the interview, "We're
going to play a diva's song next. I watched the film 'Glitter' last night

but if you're listening, you can't act darling! I'm not being nasty but
it wasn't the greatest I've seen! But you do have a great voice." Duncan
did have a soft spot for Mariah though adding, "Anyway, I'm going to choose
a song from Mariah because I think she's absolutely wicked and I think

Cheryl Lee Terry of US Weekly gave her thoughts on Mariah Carey in the

her goals. Her ego is her Achilles' heel and she fell into the Aries trap
of believing her own publicity. By August, a stabilizing cosmic influence
will make her more grounded - and once again a major star."

of The New York Times profiled the continuing move by pop stars to film,
including Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Madonna, and others. PR consultant
Ken Sunshine explained their motivations saying, "This is the almighty
dollar waving itself before managers, agents and stars. They all think
that maybe one day they'll get too old to keep making records that go to
the top of the charts, and they see movies as another level of the entertainment
business that can keep them employed in the future. But you don't become
a great actor or actress just because you're selling millions of records
to kids." Read more.

March 5, 2002 - Fred Goodman
of Rolling Stone profiled the latest on Mariah Carey trying to land a new
record deal. Her music-business attorney, Don Passman, wouldn't get into
specifics on any contract offers, but offered, "Everyone knows she's enormously
talented. There isn't a superstar who hasn't had a glitch in her career."
Still, one manager countered, "I don't think any artist who relies on heavy
pop hits backed by MTV is reliable. She needs MTV to sell large numbers,
and she's not twenty anymore -- she's going to be thirty-two. She can't
continue to play the ingenue. I disagree with the notion that she's always
one hit away from being a superstar -- her career is only her next hit."
