January 30, 2003 - The National
Enquirer reports Mariah Carey has reached out to Christina Aguilera to
urge the hard partying pop tart to seek help before she spirals into a
full-blown alcohol and partying addiction. She told XXX-Tina, "You're going
to end up burned out at 30, like I was!" The scene happened at the party
Mariah tossed after the American Music Awards, where Aguilera got so plowed
that she nearly lost her skimpy top. Mariah played big sister to the younger
diva, begging her not to buckle under the pressures and temptations of
young stardom that Mariah herself nearly flamed out on. Carey ordered her
handlers to sneak the drunken Aguilera past photographers by covering her
with a towel. Even while covered up, Christina continued boozing under
the towel! But her cover was blown when her glass slipped and shattered
on the sidewalk outside.

"Was there one? I'm not sure if anyone cares anymore. If you're going to
come back, it has to be with an awesome record, like Kylie Minogue's."

January 28, 2003 - Former
New York City limo driver to the stars Paul Monroe continued his commentary
on his experiences driving stars around with his thoughts on Mariah Carey.
Monroe revealed, "We would get a call in the office for a fleet of cars
to arrive first thing in the morning at Mariah's place - two SUVs, four
sedans, on Mercedes and a stretch limousine. We'd all get there then we'd
sit outside her residence all day without moving. The cost to go nowhere
was easily $7,000 to $8,000." Monroe says Carey spent hundreds of thousnads
over the years on cars that were never used. But despite her demands, Monroe
says Carey was "absolutely not snobby. In all my time dealing with her,
she was always the nicest person. She'd say, 'Hi Paul. Nice to see you.'
She was a looker, too."

Fred Bronson responded to the allegations that Mariah Carey's 'Through
the Rain' received inflated airplay figures after Def Jam bought commercial
time and filled it with the song. Bronson said, "If it was the label's
intention to inflate airplay and send 'Through the Rain' hurtling up the
chart, buying time on six small-market stations is hardly effective." He
added, "Whatever the motivation, let's look at the results. 'Through the
Rain' never went higher than No. 81 on the Hot 100, so if the label did
have a strategy to make 'Through the Rain' a hit by buying commercial time
for airplay, it certainly didn't work." Read more.

breakdown to clips of kiddies declaring their faith in her comeback." Read
