October 31, 2003 - Cindy Adams of The New York Post reports a different reason for why Mariah Carey won't be doing a biography. Adams says it wasn't Medina who pulled the diva off the project, but that Carey "wanted $5 million When that wasn't happening, she slid to $3 million When that wasn't happening and the number was stabilizing at something maybe near $500,000 maybe, things got icky. Also sticky. The more it was talked about, the less enthusiastic the publishers got. They realized she wouldn't be revealing anything revealing, they realized they needed a writer, they realized nothing they were hearing was worth that money."

October 27, 2003 - Jenny Colgan of The Scotsman shared her thoughts on Mariah Carey before the singer performed tonight at SECC. Colgan writes, "She may or may not be able to sing- it’s simply impossible to tell as she warbles and slips up and down her 16 wobbly octaves, thus rendering every conceivable tune equally unidentifiable and unlistenable. Add to this a fondness for cloying songs of the gloopiest order, usually discussing honey or rainbows, and she’s definitely something of an acquired taste." Colgan also spoke about how the singer's "legs are always three times the length of the rest of her. For the album 'Number Ones' (hee hee), one Photoshop professional reckoned she’d had at least a foot added to her thighs alone." Read more.

That was, by the way, my first film. There are many other long-time actors who produce flops." Check out the entire interview here."

October 20, 2003 - NJHottie24 writes "It seems that there is not a bit of friendship between Sony Music and Mariah Carey, even when just a few weeks ago Sony announced that Mariah included non-Sony tracks in the contractual obligation album 'The Remixes.' October 17, 2003 - StayGoneBeautiful writes "This is in response to the 'Remixes' article by Anonymous. Sony Music has promoted---and still is promoting 'The Remixes'. I've seen two different commercials on BET, MTV, The Box, VH1 and other various music channels no less than ten times each since October 4, 2003. Most radio stations are carrying a special promo for the new album, and a representative of Columbia says that posters for the album will begin appearing in densely-populated urban areas on Friday. So, to say that Sony is trying to sabotage the album is nothing more than a hasty generalization, and furthermore, the Columbia rep said Sony would have been overstepping its boundaries by doing heavy promotions. It was decided that Mariah herself and her team would do most of the promoting. 'The Remixes' was actually a joint venture between Def Jam and Columbia."

October 17, 2003 - John Norris of MTV News sat down with Mariah Carey to talk about her new remix album 'The Remixes', which she's excited about even though it's a contractual obligation with Sony Music. "I'm excited about it because it was out in Japan first and I got it and I listened to it and it's a really good album," she said. "All the hip-hop remixes are there, and then you have the club mixes, so it's a totally unique kind of album. It is a contractual thing, and in a way I'm just like [sighs] 'OK, this should've been out four years ago,' but I think it's definitely like a collector's item. 'Cause a lot of the remixes you couldn't get in stores, you couldn't buy them." Check out the entire interview, including video clips, here

October 12, 2003 - monarc20 writes "Radio City Music Hall…as soon as we arrive, we immediately are delighted this venue was chosen over Madison Square Garden to host this “Intimate Evening with Mariah Carey”. Dimmed lighting, luxurious chandeliers and large curtains cover the stage; difficult to imagine a better setting for a celebration with our favorite diva. An orange curtain, decorated by a golden charmbracelet and done in a circus motif, is still enveloping the stage, but the harsh New York critics are already sharpening their pencils to find even the smallest imperfections. Tonight, Mariah will give her all, not just filling the stage, but entering convincingly from the back of the auditorium through a frenzy of screaming fans." Read more.

She explained, "I’ve met the likes of Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Reba McIntyre, T-Boz and Aerosmith. While I have this surreal feeling like, 'Hey, I know all your music, and you know my name', I kept my cool most of the time. But Mariah was one person I really flipped out over. Randy Jackson had introduced us during a show. Mariah was in her dressing room and was very obliging... so I just lost it." Read more.

October 10, 2003 - Anonymous writes "I think we all know about Jennifer Lopez stealing the idea to use the 'Firecracker' sample from Mariah Carey's 'Loverboy', to use for 'I'm Real'. I wonder if anyone has ever noticed that J.Lo's 'All I Have' was ripped of Mariah's 'Boy (I Need You)'. Then you got J.Lo's other song 'Baby (I Need You)'. Wow, that's pretty close to 'Boy (I Need You)'. There's more Mariah has a song called 'The One' on her new album and so does J.Lo. If that wasn't enough, if you remember before 'Charmbracelet' came out, Mariah said she would be redoing 'Loving You' by Minnie Ripperton. Well, she didn't but J.Low has a song called 'Loving You' on her new album. Also Mariah worked with Jadkiss on 'Miss You' & J.Low worked with him on 'Jenny From The Block.' October 5, 2003 - Anonymous writes "I think Mariah Carey is amazing. Every one thought her career was finished. They thought she had been done in but the press. Most people would have called it quits after so much bad publicity. Mariah was smart enough to make an album to say "I'm hear and I'm not going anywhere," which she proved with 'Charmbracelet' earning the 2 largest opening week sales of her career. It also would be nice for the fans, media and the haters to remember that she has sold 2 million copies in the U.S alone with almost no radio support. Then if that wasn't enough she went on tour and gave the best performance's of her career. The tour was critically acclaimed giving her a freash start. Now she's releasing 'The Remixes,' which is has her hottest R&B and dance classic remixes. If that wasn't enough she's already halfway done with writing her new album cause she's been writing on tour. In late November, she is beging working on a new Moive called 'Sweet Science' in which she play's a female boxer. Ms. Carey is actually a very talented actress she was just dealt and accepted the wrong cards. It's clear we haven't seen the best of Carey yet, because she coming out smelling like a rose."
