August 23, 2004 - SJ writes "MariahDaily.com reports that Mariah Carey's accessories line, 'Automatic Princess', is now available at several mall locations within the United States at Clarie's stores. Claire's customer service representative Nicole Thomas states that the Automatic Princess line should be available nationwide by October 2004, but many fans seem to have found the line of keychain, necklaces, charm bracelets, rings, tiaras, among other items at Clarie's stores near them. August 23, 2004 - The next video from Jadakiss on his 'Kiss of Death' album is 'U Make Me Wanna,' which features Mariah Carey. "I'm supposed to be shooting the me-and-Mariah joint," Jadakiss told MTV News. "I might do [a split video] like I did for 'Knock Yourself Out' and 'We Gonna Make It.' I might do the Mariah joint and 'By Your Side' at the end, give them a verse. ['U Make Me Wanna'] is gonna be real sexy, though, a little out of my element. That's how I want all my videos from this album to be. 'Why' hit you from left field. I just want it to be one of them joints; big house, big car, one of them videos the ladies like. This is strictly for the ladies, to get me over that hump. I understand the business." Read more.

August 23, 2004 - Reuters spoke with Aretha Franklin, who revealed that she and Clive Davis, chairman of BMG North America, are teaming again for her new album. "Clive and I are working on a duets (album)," she says. "I'm also going to do three or four new cuts for that." So far, she plans to sing with Mariah Carey and Gloria Estefan, among others. August 23, 2004 - princeleo writes "For those of you who remember Mariah was in the Guinness Book of World Records not to long ago for having a five octave range and singing a G7# when she sang the National Anthem. But that's not true. The note she sang was a B6. You can play this note on the piano if you don't believe me. However it was later found out that there was some tampering going on with the sound equipment and so she's supposedly no longer in the book." Read more.

August 16, 2004 - Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com reports that Mariah Carey appears to have shut down her MonarC record label. Carey's new album, which will be released early this fall, will appear on Island/Def Jam itself under the auspices of Antonio 'LA' Reid, late of Arista Records. Read more.

August 16, 2004 - Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com reports that a California appeals court has reinstated a dismissed case and given two songwriters who claim Mariah Carey plagiarized them a chance to go ahead with their case. Seth Swirsky — who's got 30 gold and platinum records and is married to the head of EMI Music Publishing — says that Carey's 'Thank God I Found You' featuring Xscape is in fact a re-doing of 'Just One of Those Love Songs', a track he and Warryn Campbell wrote for Xscape. August 16, 2004 - Kizzardkid writes "According to MariahDaily.com and their source HMV Australia, Mariah Carey's new album is scheduled to be released on October 4th, 2004. This is the only source so far that states an accurate release date for Mariah's album and MariahDaily will keep you updated as soon as there are other confirmations or denials for it. MariahDaily also notes that "We just got a word from Mariah's management that claims there is no official date set for Mariah's new album yet."" 

August 16, 2004 - The New York Times reports that Mariah Carey, who donated $1 million to the Fresh Air Fund in 1995 and has a camp named in her honor, visited the young residents of Camp Mariah in Fishkill, New York arriving in a black Mercedes limousine. "People say their lives were completely changed, just by going up to a host family or to different camps," Carey said. "They say that before, they had never seen trees and grass and lakes or anything like that. Just that experience in and of itself is amazing, that you can just lie out and look at the stars." August 9, 2004 - SJ writes "El Siglo reports that Mariah Carey, became the feminine singer who has sold more albums in the history of music, as soon as the ex-director of Sony, Tommy Mottola, discovered her great artistic talent. As manager and promoter, Mottola lay down millons of dollars with the privileged voice of his ex-wife, nevertheless, with Thalía, his present wife, the same formula has not worked informed a publication into Magazine FAMA. August 9, 2004 - SJ writes "Ananova.com reports that Mariah Carey will release her new album in December. The album, which doesn't have a title yet, will hit the shops in America on December 10th. It contains "20 very personal songs". The album is being released through her own record label, MonarC Music, and Island."

August 9, 2004 - Kizzardkid writes "According to MariahDaily.com, The first single from Mariah Carey's upcoming album will apparently be 'Stay The Night', featuring Kanye West. This news comes from Rob Wagman, Top 40/Mainstream director at All Access, the radio and record industry's leading information guide."

August 2, 2004 - Mark Sudack, a member of Mariah Carey's management team, is dating the diva according to The New York Post. "They met during Mariah's world tour," a spy revealed. "Mark used to work with L.A. Reid at Arista and L.A. brought him over to work at Def Jam. Mark was Mariah's 'house photographer' and traveled with her everywhere. They are very close and spend a lot of quality time not in the spotlight together." Perhaps the new romance helped inspire a big hit with Kanye West on her forthcoming album. A Def Jam insider claims the duet "is amazing."

August 2, 2004 - SJ writes "The Daily Star reports that Mariah Carey has turned down the chance to work with boy band Westlife again. Carey, who sang with the Irish boy band on a chart-topping cover of Phil Collins' 'Against All Odds' four years ago, feels they won't do her career any favors now. She told a source: "I like them and they are very talented but to be honest I have moved into a different musical direction.""
