February 28, 2005 - The Chicago Sun Times reports that Mariah Carey was spotted dining quietly in the Red Room at Japonais. Carey was happy to find her favorite vintage -- Stag's Leaf Cask 23 -- on the Japonais wine list.

February 28, 2005 - Mariah Carey joined Rick Dees in the studio for his Weekly Top 40 show. The singer discussed her new album 'The Emancipation of Mimi', working with LA Reid on the effort, the all-star collaborations, the new and unplanned single 'It's Like That', and current plans to release the album on April 12th. February 14, 2005 - Hollywoodoperatingsystem.com has a SAG casting notice for Mariah Carey's music video shoot, which is being directed by Brett Ratner. The notice states: "Hey, folks! We're looking for upscale wedding guests and high rolling party guests with your own upscale wardrobe (tuxedos, black ties, sexy gowns, rhinestone formals). These people are good looking model types. Tall and thin types, please, with a more urban, hip, edgy ethnic diversity. Mixed cultures, but with attitude. This is an exclusive, good-looking event. Ages 20-45. February 14, 2005 - Kizzardkid writes "According to MariahDaily.com and their source Island Def Jam, Mariah Carey and director Brett Ratner teamed up for her first two videos from her forthcoming album, 'The Emancipation of Mimi', due out April 12th. The videos feature cameos by Hollywood actor Wentworth Miller, rapper/producer Jermaine Dupri, actor Eric Roberts and rap star/Def Jam President, Jay-Z, among others. The first video for the hit single, 'It's Like That', will hit the airwaves end of February. The video to the single is rumored to include a reenactment of the party scene from 'Eyes Wide Shut', a movie which starred Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise."

February 7, 2005 - In an interview with Blender magazine, Mariah Carey wouldn't confirm or deny that she's dating a 28-year-old guy who works for her. "Honestly! At this stage in my life, I'm not even getting into that stuff," Carey said, even though the dude was sitting nearby during the interview. She added, "I'm not getting tied down in any relationship. February 7, 2005 - Kristy17MariahFan writes "Mariah Carey is shooting the video for her new single, 'It's Like That', this week with director Brett Ratner ('Rush Hour', 'Red Dragon'). "I don't want to give it away yet," Carey told MTV Radio recently, "because you know how things change, but it's a Las Vegas casino scene. Brett is great at giving things a cinematic feel. We did the 'Heartbreaker' video together, and it had such a sense of humor to it, that I hope to have that for this video.""
