Christmas were, and once again, she'll be spending time in Aspen. "I'm
spending Christmas in Aspen, which I love," she said. "The only problem
is, I take five hours to get ready. They've usually closed the slopes before
I get to go and ski!"

'Don't Forget About Us' is Mariah's 17th song to reach the #1 position
on the Billboard Hot 100. Mariah has more #1's than any other female artist
and is only behind The Beatles (who have 20 #1's) in the overall tally.
This week will mark 76 cumulative weeks for Mariah at the #1 spot on the
Hot 100. She is only 4 weeks behind Elvis Presley who holds the all-time

at #1 at iTunes, Napster, MSN, and Real Music. The single, which was released
this week, is expected to climb 2-1 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated December
31, 2005. 'Don't Forget About Us' is also expected to debut at #1 on the
Hot Digital Songs and Hot Digital Tracks charts, knocking Mariah's 'All
I Want For Christmas Is You' from the top spot."

York Daily News reports that after receiving two $9,000 furs from an unnamed
wealthy Russian, Mariah Carey forwarded the gifts to People for the Ethical
Treatment of Animals' New York office. "Christmas came early," said PETA's
Dawn Carr, noting that the group will use the coats in grisly presentations
to high school students around the country on how animals are cruelly trapped
in the wild or strangled and electrocuted on fur farms just for a frivolous
fashion item.

year of my life and you know what? for every single time that we thought
'yeah it was bleak and whatever', it's all worth it 'cause this has been
amazing and I really can never ever ever thank you enough and i may sound
boring and dramatic or whatever but I don't have my cheerleading squad
with me. So it's a little bleak but basically, I'm just laying in bed,
getting ready to go to sleep and the night wouldn't have been complete

Billboard Music Awards wearing what some thought was an engagement ring
- which would fuel speculation she's about to marry her low-profile boyfriend
Mark Sudack. "She won't formally acknowledge he's her boyfriend," a friend
revealed. Carey's manager, Benny Medina, called him a "valuable associate,"

with those who say her eight Grammy nominations were proof of her comeback

The singer brought Oxford Street to a standstill when she arrived at the
HMV store to sign copies of her latest album, 'The Emancipation of Mimi'.
There were hundreds of fans lining the street. One onlooker said the crowd
were whipped into a frenzy. "It was just madness, there were no barriers
in place and suddenly the crowd which had been waiting patiently began
to push forward," he told the Daily Mail. "There were just police officers
