Lolita." Others in the top ten included Jessica Simpson at #3 ("She resembles
a cut-rate Rapunzel slingin' hash in a Vegas diner", Mariah Carey at #5
(The world applauds your musical emanci-pation ... but please - leave that
body to our imagination"), Shakira at #8 ("Coiffure by Medusa .... clothes
by the Marquis De Sade"), and Lindsay Lohan at #9 ("The Teen Scream defines
'Fashion Fright' - looks like she's aged 30 years overnight"). Read more.

while doing radio interviews. "It's been so many months. I've been on radio
stations saying, 'If you're a builder please hurry up and finish,'" Carey
said. "I plan to get a hot tub on my roof terrace. Hopefully next summer
it'll be the place to hang out."

January 18, 2006 - In an
interview with The Mirror, Mariah Carey recounted a night out with Cam'ron.
"We're always hanging out but we really are just friends," she insisted.
"Anyway, he turned up at my apartment one night in his blue Lamborghini.
My security guys were really worried about me going with him, so they were
just figuring out a way to follow us when Cam took off at 150 miles per
hour down the street. They must have been freaking but we just took off,
went out and had fun. I was like, 'You can't keep up with a Lamborghini!
Goodbye!' I know they're only looking after my best interests, but the
truth is I'm a free spirit." Read more.

wanted to call and say Happy New Year and thank you for an incredible 2005

we are in Anguilla!). Yes we are, dahling. We have a special guest here
who just wants to say a few words real quickly. (Happy New Year to all
the lambs in the land.) But also, where's our other guest that was here
before? Where did he go? (Move over here and say something.) I love you
guys. I'm looking forward to 2006 and having an amazing year. Thank you
so much for everything. Alright, I hope you guys all had a wonderful Christmas

January 18, 2006 - Roger
Friedman of FoxNews.com reported on the sad state of Tommy Mottola's career
since leaving Sony Music two years ago. With only Lindsay Lohan and Brie
Larson featured on Casablanca Records' website, with Marc Anthony and Usher
both dropping him as their manager, and with his wife Thalia's inability
to become an American celebrity, it prompted Friedman to ask if Mottola
was "officially retired from the music business." And the simultaneous
success of his ex-wife Mariah Carey in 2005 must really hurt. "It must
be driving him crazy that Mariah's having so much success," a source said.
"After all, in the past he tried to kill her albums. But this one he couldn't
do anything about." Read more.

let's revisit the Number One hits of both Mariah Carey and Madonna. As
we all know by now, Mariah is the female has the most number of Number
One songs 17. Madonna is at second (or third if
you consider Michael Jackson female) with 12 (see Part 2). I'm sure most
of these songs will take you back in time. Definitely some of these Number
One hits have touched our lives and given us inspiration." Read more.

January 18, 2006 - The New
York Post reports Vogue editor Andre Leon Talley was given a sleigh ride
by Mariah Carey in Aspen during the holiday break. Talley recalled: "Mariah
pulls up in a flimsy gold lamé gown that is as thin as tissue paper
- and it's freezing out! All I could say was 'You do make an effort for
your friends!' " Carey made sure to put on a full-length fur coat before
she took off in the sleigh ride with Talley, however.
January 18, 2006 - ScorpionMan
writes "Last year, r'n'b singer Mariah Carey had chart success with her
comeback album 'The Emancipation of Mimi.' In the same year Madonna also
returned with her multi-million selling 'Confessions on a Dance Floor,'
and needless to say a war of words ensued between fans. These are the reasons
I beleive Mariah will never take Madonna's Queen of Pop crown, and I would
be interested to hear feedback from Mariah and Madonna fans." Read more.

writes "Paulina Rubio was recently interviewed on Miami's radio station
98.3 "La Calle" and they asked her about her upcoming plans for 2006. Paulina
talked about her upcoming english album and working with Pharrell, P. Diddy,
and that she wanted to work with Gwen Stefani. When People En Español's
"Star of the Year" for 2005 was asked who she thought was the Star of the
Year in the english market for 2005, she didn't hesitate to say Mariah
Carey. She praised Mariah's talent by saying, "I am a fan of Mariah Carey's
music. She writes her own songs, and she came back strong after they were
trying to manipulate her career. She is showing that nothing can stop her.
Good for her!" She also talked about a close encounter when they both attended
the Operation Smile event where Paulina was named ambassador for Latin
America for this organization back in 2004."
January 18, 2006 - ScorpionMan
writes "Recently an article was published concerning Madonna's string of
movie flops, but it was written by a Mariah Carey fan! It made me think
about the difference between the two artists's movie careers. Before the
fantastic flop "Glitter" Mariah Carey said many times in interveiws "This
is a lifelong dream/ambition," "I've always wanted to be an actress," but
as soon as her movie flopped she gave up and never returned Hollywood."

January 18, 2006 - Mariah
Carey tells Good Housekeeping that her parents' divorce still affects her.
"I always said when I was little that I was never going to get married,"
she told the mag in their February issue, "but then I was always the girl
who didn't understand why people would live together. 'If they're living
together, then why don't they get married?' I'm actually sort of a prude
like that, I guess." The singer, who was married to music mogul Tommy Mottola,
tells the mag she would only consider getting married again if she knew
she was starting a family, and she's not too sure that should be her goal.
"I mean, to me, if you're getting married, it's about having kids," she
said. "Still, I worry sometimes about having kids when you're really famous,
because the kids aren't asking to be brought into this world as famous
people... I can't even predict the next 10 minutes, let alone the next
10 years!"

on the Billboard Hot 100. "This is the best ever, ever, ever, ever, ever
gift," Carey said. "I am so happy! (Wooo!) I am just so excited I had to
call you and say, no for real I can't even express it and we're just being
totally celebratory ... Jasmine's here (Jasmine: I'm here in front of a
roaring fire in the festive Christmas tree.), Rachel is over here (Rachel:
Hi, lambs!), and Jack is here, he's a little excited, but I don't want
him to ruin the message. I've been trying to leave a message three times
and everytime we tried to blow the little festive horn, the new year's
thing, he freaked out and like started attacking us (laugh) but anyway,
I just wanted to say that you are the best in the world, you know that
and you've made this year if not the best year of my life one of the most
incredible years ever and I just, all I can say is I love you, appreciate
you and enjoy you and I wish I could get Jack to bark without him attacking
us but he loves you too and seriously this is such an amazing day for me.
Thank you guys for making it possible and it's just an incredible blessing
and I just thank God for you and I thank God for this day and for everything
and everybody, Happy Holidays! I'm gonna call you back and leave you some
more festive messages but it was a really fun happy 17th party tonight
so, you guys were with us in spirit and, I love you (we took pictures too
and we're gonna show you). Yes, you're gonna see the pictures soon so anyway,
happy 17th and I love you much! Buh-bye!" Listen to the message at MariahCarey.com.
