May 25, 2006 - Though Christina Aguilera was quick to praise 'American Idol' season one champ Kelly Clarkson in her interview with GQ, the claws came out when asked about Mariah Carey. "She was never cool to me... to the point that one time we were at a party and I think she got really drunk, and she had just really derogatory things to say to me... But it was at that time that she had that breakdown, so she might have been very medicated," the singer told the magazine for its June cover story. But Mariah did not take the remarks sitting down. "I had hoped that Christina was in a better place now than the last time I saw her when she showed up uninvited at one of my parties and displayed questionable behavior," Mariah said in a statement to 'Access Hollywood'. "It is sad yet predictable that she would use my name at this time to reinvent past incidents for her promotional gain. It is in my heart to forgive and I will keep her in my prayers." Read more.

May 25, 2006 - Blender caught up with Mariah Carey for a Q&A and asked the singer about her film and album flop 'Glitter', which she herself termed "The debacle." Asked about she'd describe that time of her life, Carey said, "As a blessing in disguise. It was a very humbling experience, which is something we all need to go through now and again. Especially in the entertainment industry. It got me into a much better place spiritually. When you go through that kind of thing--when you're being attacked, first by the media, but also dealing with personalities in the music business, moguls who are ultra-powerful -- it's important to take a break and realize that you deserve to be happy, you deserve to be able to create music that you love."
