July 29, 2006 - At the ESPY Awards on Wednesday, Mariah Carey told 'Access Hollywood' she's ready to duet with Janet Jackson. "Jermaine (Dupri) keeps saying this, but Jermaine has to call me and tell me about it," Mariah said of the possible collaboration. "I love Janet. Janet is wonderful. I'm a fan. I'll totally do it, but he's got to let me know so we can write the song." July 29, 2006 - Janet Jackson and music producer-boyfriend Jermaine Dupri were on hand for the ESPY Awards Wednesday night, and they broke news to 'Extra' about teaming up for a superstar duet with Mariah Carey. July 29, 2006 - Though Mariah Carey has decades of hits to promote and a mega-hit album in 'The Emancipation of Mimi', the singer's touring numbers have not historically been in the league of her success at retail. Producers vow her North American tour, which commences August 5th, will be different. "Mariah Carey put out a career-defining album a year ago - we're about to embark on the defining tour for her," says Brad Wavra, VP at Live Nation and point person for the tour. "This will be the biggest tour she has ever undertaken and the largest audience she's ever played to." Read more.

July 16, 2006 - 'Access Hollywood' co-host Billy Bush "kidnapped" Mariah Carey for a tour of Los Angeles. First stop was Universal Studios in Hollywood, and then a trip along Hollywood Boulevard. Billy blogged afterwards: "Mariah is fun, really funny and self-deprecating - and thanks to her 'morsel diet' (sinful foods allowed, but only a forkful), she's looking strong." July 16, 2006 - Kelly Kines, the Mariah Carey Super Fan who competed against her hero during a trivia game segment on Friday's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' and won (watch it at YouTube), e-mailed MariahDaily.com a review of her experience. Kines writes, "She is so down-to-earth and I really just can't thank her enough for agreeing to do something like this with a fan. After the show, I had to stay backstage for a while. Finally, it was time to go. I talked to Mariah all the way to her car, and then she had to call it a night." Read more.
