August 29, 2000 - Mariah will be one of many celebrities that are donating their blue jeans for an Internet auction to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's California Chapter on Yahoo! auctions.

August 27, 2000 - Thirsty.com reports that Westlife claim that their collaboration with Mariah Carey went so well because her Irish roots and the special connection they shared.

August 26, 2000 - BMG has finally launched the Clive Davis label, J Records. Davis dismissed dismissed rumors that J had been courting established stars Mariah Carey and George Michael.

August 19, 2000 - Who would've thought Mariah and Whitney would be pictured together and both sign the same picture, but eBay is featuring that very situation. The photo (item #409413119) is currently only bid at $15.50 and ends late Sunday.

August 16, 2000 - Worldpop has heard the Mariah and Westlife duet and apparently is none too impressed, saying "It sounds like it has been recorded for 12p with Westlife hollering over Mariah's ancient album version of the same song. In The Air Tonight would have been a better idea, as in 'like a bad fart'."

August 12, 2000 - More news from the All That Glitters front, as Eric Benet will make his film debut starring opposite of Mariah. Benet is the boyfriend of actress Halle Berry.

August 9, 2000 - Pagesix.com reports that Mariah is pushing All That Glitters ahead as fast as she can because the soundtrack will be her last recording for Sony Music before her contract expires. More information is coming out regarding her signing with Clive Davis' new label, as a source told the Post it isn't going to happen yet, saying  "She was asking for up to $15 million in upfront money, a piece of equity in his entertainment company and her own label besides." It looks more likely now that BMG will land Mariah only after more intense negotiations.

August 9, 2000 - Foxnews.com's Roger Friendman reports Mariah Carey is busy shopping for a new label and should have a mega deal to announce shortly, possibly with Arista Records. [This is common knowledge of course, but we'll report it anyways]

August 7, 2000 - Mariah Carey and Luis Miguel will be vacationing this weekend in Mexico, reports Liz Smith. They also report Mariah finished up the All that Glitters soundtrack, posed for Vanity Fair's music issue and visited young fans at Cabbagetown Youth Center.

August 7, 2000 - Mariah Carey and Luis Miguel are featured in the Enquirer this week, as they repot the two have vacationed in 33 locations in the past 18 months... Partying it up before settling down with kids?

August 6, 2000 - NEWS FLASH: Mariah Carey Pregnant? That's what most would assume after reading this Pagesix.com blind item: Which multi-platinum pop diva, taking a break from singing to make a movie, may have a bun in the oven? She was overheard on the set telling a pal she's preggers? All That Glitters is currently filming, don't know of another diva filming anything currently... hmmm...

August 5, 2000 - A lot of people were left scratching their heads after Mariah wasn't nominated again in this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Mariah had even joked about wanting a nomination in her making the video for Heartbreaker. But, as we've told people many times, MTV is corporate controlled and as such they focus on young acts, not the quality of the artist... Madonna excluded, as she's a media icon.

August 2, 2000 - The New York Daily News reports Bianca Collins, who was cast to play the young version of Mariah in All That Glitters has been fired just days into shooting. Reports say Mariah spotted another girl in Toronto and hired her instead, leaving the child actor devastated, according to her mother.

August 1, 2000 - Star Magazine reports Courtney Love was about to try on Heartbreaker lipstick but said "Oh, I don't like it after all" after the clerk told her it was created by Mariah Carey. Instead, she went with a shade called "Hoochie."
