Yes, I really don't know what i have for her lately.... hm, gotta investigate this. I kinda don't know why, but I did my homework on Nicole and now I even have my favourite site of her! Wow! It's this one: geocities.com/nicolesmagic/Magical Things Happen On Magical Days - they mean her star on the Walk of Fame....

Dunno, dunno.... :( Still perplexed about what exactly is great in her (maybe overcoming Tom Cruise?)

Does anyone speak Italian? Then you can get this site of her: http://utenti.lycos.it/satine88/home.htmlPink Layout - Hell! - it's so Italian, that I feel like I am reading something in Portuguese. I mean the following: it's a language, it is close to Latin, but you totally don't get it!

I used to seriously dislike her, but now I really do have respect for teh woman, she is an actress and not another redhead with a big smile. She's ace, and pretty but I still prefer people with dark hair and dark complexion, pale people look sick, olive skins remind me of the sun, they look good B)

Of course, he was always tortured by her height! She couldn't wear high heels cause he looked stupid next to her. Really. But they were doing it.... ehh, they're not doing it anymore.

She finally made that breakthrough in the serious movies with "Eyes Wide Shut" by Stanley Kubrick I think. And I'm not saying it just because I think he is the greatest director of all times. I just think the movie was so great and so well made (exactly his style).

And about Virginia.... I think whoever had the boldness to play her is a really brave person. She said, what she was going through in her personal life helped he understand Virginia better. Hope she didn't suffer that great deal.

No, Penelope isn't taller, when she is with high heels she is almost the same height, but no, she doesn't look taller. I gotta check to be sure, actually.

Do you think Nicole is going to get it next year for "Cold Mountain"? Or you won't deal with next year's Oscars from now! :D Yes, Im the only crazy person! Plus, next year, Tom Cruise will be at the Oscars, too... He may finally get it... Oh! fingers crossed!

I liked her daughter! Sweet girl! She was sitting right behind her.

Oh, Channy, The Aviator isn't filmed yet! It actually hasn't started filming yet. It has to be made first, and then to qualify. And what's up with everybody being bummed that Marty didn't win? Cause he won all the other awards? It would look logical. But it doesn't have to be logical and happen as people expect it (example Grrrr! Chicago). I mean R. Polanski is a very right choice and what people are talking about him is bulsh**. Marty should have won for "Casino" cause this is a damn movie. Ridley Scott for example doesn't have an Oscar, but we know he's freaking god, right?
Example for a time when I was really bummed: 1998 and everyone thinks James Cameron is gonna get it, and I'm crossing fingers for Curtis Hanson, and I'm like hey, Curtis Hanson..... and the winner is: James Cameron, like everyone expected. Plus, he's breaking the f*cking record, and he is screaming :"I'm the king!" Emotional. But kinda predicted!

I'm saying all this (if you wonder) in order to relate to Nicole's Oscar! :D Cause you know that everyone expected her to get it, and she deserves (I'm sure I'm gonna think so after watching it) But I love surprises. Like Pedro Almodovar - he rocked them hard with "Todo Sobre Mi Madre" and he does it again with "Hable Con Ella" (Yes! Yes! Yes! I watched it!)
And sometimes I also like it when my favourites win. For example, a favourite actor of mine hasn't won since Kevin Spacey did. I'm kinda Grrrrr! every year including this one.

OK, that was 'bout the Oscars, I'm long and off-topic again.

Well, now about Nic. "Cold Mountain" is surely gonna get something, cause it's Oscar made. Not that I'm judgemental about that kind of movies, they are actually quite enjoyable and real brainers, and have great visual effects for a drama. What I'm a little upset about is that it is a Mingella movie. (Oh, I don't like him, but he is good). You know Antony Mingella? He's behind "The English Patient". (Help! But I love Ralph Fiennes)

Information about COLD MOUNTAIN can be found here:
http://movies.go.com/movies/C/coldmountain_2001/index.htmlMovies.Com , http://us.imdb.com/Title?0159365IMDB Infofile

And if you, Channy, haven't watched EYES WIDE SHUT gotta tell you that it is pretty hard to watch. I mean, it's for dies hard Kubrick fans. Have you heard of his movies? Sure, you have. "Space Oddisey", of course "Spartacus" etc. End of 60s, and 70s. He died before Eyes Wide Shut was released, it was really sad. Mourning for a great person. I think he made this last movie in such a form (I think it's forbidden for under 18 year-olds) cause he doubted teenagers are old enough for such truths. Oh, I'm getting too philosophical and out of matter. I love this movie, but I do not recommend it if you don't have the nerves for a psychological thriller. I give it an B+, because of the visual effects, grr!, and the casting (but Tom Cruise was exactly the right person for this )

Sorry long post again but I'm kinda, hm, in a writing mood today. I may even finally finish this Oscar report..... oh, lazy me! If I don't finish it in two days, it ain't gonna get published!

Nicole, Julianne and Meryl Streep signed the "Hours" disk! See the signatures here:

I find Meryl Streep's signature the most original. I just like it best...
