J.Lo Launches Second Perfume
NEW YORK (AP) - Building on the success of Glow by J.Lo, Coty Inc. has developed a second perfume with Jennifer Lopez, this time aimed to appeal to a more sophisticated, mature customer.
The scent, called Still Jennifer Lopez, is for the singer-actress' glamorous, movie-star side, explained Michele Scannavini, president of Coty's prestige fragrance division.
Glow, which the nonprofit Fragrance Foundation named its ``celebrity fragrance of the year'' in June, is more for Lopez's ``Jenny From the Block'' persona.
``This is the second step of building the Jennifer Lopez beauty house,'' Scannavini said Thursday. ``She's not a one-shot deal.
The idea behind the new product is that we want to present a different face of Jennifer Lopez - she is a multifaceted artist.''
Lopez, who once worked at a department store fragrance counter and ``has a very good nose,'' according to Scannavini, was involved in every step of the perfume's development. Its unusual top note of sake was entirely her idea, he said.
In keeping with Lopez's well-known fondness for jewelry, each bottle of Still Jennifer Lopez will have a faux diamond ring around its neck. Each bottle of Glow is adorned with a necklace.
Lopez, who turned 33 Thursday, also stars in the upcoming print ad campaign in which she looks more than a little bit like Marilyn Monroe.
``J.Lo is a little bit like Marilyn Monroe, she's glamorous and sensual,'' Scannavini told The Associated Press.
