Jennifer Lopez has toppled The Beatles from the top of the American charts with her album, 'J.Lo', after a triumphant eight-week reign.
It was announced today (Thursday February 1st) that the Latino singer's second full-length offering has knocked the Fab Four's compilation '1' from the pinnacle of The Billboard 200 after selling more than 272,000 copies.
The star is also Number One in the American box office with her most recent movie, 'The Wedding Planner'.
It's thought that it's the first time that an artist has managed to straddle both conquests since The Beatles themselves in 1965.
Despite tumbling this week, The Beatles singles collection has managed to rack up a staggering 6 million sales in the US alone.
'J. Lo' is currently Number Two in the UK charts, held off only by nu-metal evangelists Limp Bizkit and their strangely titled 'Chocolate Starfish And The Hotdog Flavoured Water'.
