LONDON (Reuters) - After breaking up with rapper Sean 'Puffy' Combs, Jennifer Lopez sees herself as a romantic still waiting for her knight in shining armor.
'I was born a romantic. I operate from the heart -- that's who I am. Love is a big inspiration in my singing, in my acting and in my dancing,' she told Britain's In Style magazine.
'I believe in unconditional love and doing things for people you care about,' said the singer and actress, who has broken up with Combs, now on trial in New York on bribery and gun possession charges in connection with a 1999 nightclub shooting.
Lopez commands $9 million a picture and recently became the first woman to top both the U.S. music and movie charts in the same week with her current release, 'J Lo,' and new film, 'The Wedding Planner.'
'I always made the choice to do different things. I just didn't want to get pigeon-holed,' she told the magazine.
Matthew McConaughey, her co-star in 'The Wedding Planner,' agreed with Lopez's view of herself.
'Jen's definitely a romantic, a dreamer. She has a real sweetness that not everyone sees, like an 8-year-old girl. She loves 'Romeo and Juliet' and the idea of the knight in shining armor coming over the hill to take her away,' he said.
