She's forging ahead on recording after rushing to be at the side of her father, who passed away last month. Once she finishes the record, Carey intends to shepherd the recordings and careers of other talent she envisions finding a home on Monarc.
A year's worth of trouble -- including her breakdown of last year and the career disappointments of her ``Glitter'' flick and humiliating departure from EMI Records -- doesn't seem to have put a dent in her ambition.
