I'm so happy Aaliyah isn't here to see what the critics have been saying about her first staring role. However, I hope that this movie makes the fans contempt and realize at least some of her potential had she'd still been here. I still miss her greatly.

Anyway, here's what jerks have been saying:

Chicago Sun-Times
Roger Ebert 'Since this will be Aaliyah's only starring movie role, it's sad that her character has such a narrow emotional range.' C+

E! Online '...this movie doesn't just suck, it blows.' F

San Francisco Chronicle
Edward Guthmann '...self-serious, pointless and silly.' D

Here’s a decent comment:

Hollywood Reporter
David Hunter 'Directed with goth pizzazz and brains...' B

In my opinion, that was uncalled for. I was really looking forward to her role in the Matrix sequals, though.

UNFORTUNATELY I didn't get a chance to see it this weekend so I cannot comment yet. I will see it ASAP, but I know the director was in awe with her performance...

The movie might not be as good as Interview with the Vampire, but as far as Aaliyah performance, I doubt if it wasn't good, just look at her work in Romeo Must Die...she rocked!!!
