I love "Like A Stone" & it's the reason why I bought the album.

Anyone know what's the deal with the band?

the deal is they forkin' rock out with cocks out honey bee! remember the bone crushin' beats of SOUND GARDEN?...and the metal massacre of meaningful messages from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE?...put the lead singer from the first group and the musicians from the second together and u have a big lovely mush of marvelous music. AUDIOSLAVE.

I recognize the lead singer. Didn't he record a solo album several years ago, after he left Sound Garden? And Tim, the bass player was the one who climbed up the stage in the VMA's '00, right? Seems like an interesting bunch. :D

i love that song i havent heard anyother audioslave songs but i have heard that the guys from RATM are relieved to not have to deal with de la rocha's temper and they want to be a lil less politicaly in your face this time.

Yeah, most of the songs in the album are simple love songs. I like them all.

yes...cornell did have a solo cd about 5 years ago...it was damn fine...and yes...that was mr. rager at the vma's in 99. don't u just love f***ers who stir sh** up? :o i wouldn't call many of the songs on the audioslave cd 'simple love songs',more like little complex mysteries about love life and the pursuit of happiness.

I meant simple as opposed to the previous RATM songs that were political.

I just saw the video for "Show Me How To Live." It's hella tight!

Since my sister was a mad RAGE fan, I was looking foward to Audioslave. But now since Like A Stone is so mainstream (so infact that it gets played on the POP stations here) I'm kinda like ;) eh...

But they're still great. Tom rocks my face off. :headbanger:

I think it's good that their music is being played in pop stations. That way I get to hear all my favorite songs in one station. :)

I bought mine for under $9. CD's in my country are a lot cheaper.
