Australian Radio Interview With Justin

someone over at the jjb board said that someone (i guess in Austrailia)flew to LA earlier this week to do an interview with him and that she heard the album and loved it so she here's the transcript:

Host: “Justin, thanks for joining us on the showâ€￾

Justin: “Hey, coolâ€￾

Host: “Last night I heard the album Justified for the first time-“

Justin: “How much did you hear?â€￾

Host: “Uh the whole thingâ€￾

Justin: â€￾Oh coolâ€￾

Host: â€￾Well I, I mean I gather what your almost finalizing all the tracks?â€￾

Justin: â€￾Well I have like 20 to 22 so-“

Host: “Ok well I didn’t hear all 22 because they’re not gonna all make itâ€￾

Justin: “Yeah I don’t want you to sit through all thatâ€￾

Host laughs

Host: â€￾No, it was great thoughâ€￾

Justin: â€￾Thank youâ€￾

Host: “It was-I was really surprised how different it was from what where used to hearing, and uh you know really-“

Justin: “Well to me like, I didn-I didn’t just make it, It wasn’t like a conscience effort to make something different. But when I listen to it, I thought, you know me personally, its just not different from Nsync, its different from anything that outâ€￾

Host: “Yeah exactly, I think that’s what surprised meâ€￾

Justin: “It’s got its own kinda thingâ€￾

Host: “You must be proud about it?â€￾

Justin: “Yeah I’m excited, I’m anxious to see what people are gonna do, because, it is a new sound, so I don’t know how everybody’s gonna react to itâ€￾

Host: “Well my original question was going to be were are you nervous about releasing your own solo thing, but I think after hearing it it must be excited more than anythingâ€￾

“Both, its both I mean I’m nervous and excited, nervous energyyyy, excited energyyy, its gonna be um, its gonna be cool though. I’m really anxious to see what people say about the music, to see what they think.â€￾

Host: “And you performed it for the first time at the MTV awards..â€￾

Justin: “Yeah, the first singleâ€￾

Host: “Bout a billion people watch that show, gosh, what was going through your mind when you were onstage?â€￾

Justin: “Nothing much, just don’t fall downâ€￾

*Laughs from host and Justin *

Justin: “That’s about itâ€￾

Host: “Have you had that experience before, falling down onstage?â€￾

Justin: “Um yes, I will say that I have. Not as bad as some other people who will remain nameless. Uh, Joey! And um, so-“

Host: “Is that a bad-how does it feel when you fall down on stage, are you just thinkin’ god-“

Justin: “Worse things have happenedâ€￾

Host: “Yeah?â€￾

Justin: “My pants, my trousers have fallen down on stage before but-“

Host: “Are you a boxers or a brief kinda guy?â€￾

Justin: “Oh, I had briefs on so I was dancing and everything had to stay in…placeâ€￾

Host: “Ohh goshâ€￾

Laughs from host

Host: “Now lets getting back to this albumâ€￾

Justin: “Without saying to much…CAN WE START OVER THIS INTERVIEW?â€￾

Host: “Yeaah, lets go back a bit we’ll get off thatâ€￾

Justin laughs

Justin: “Yeah lets lets- ok nevermindâ€￾

Host: “What do you think the fans are going to think about this? Do you think they’re gonna think it’s a huge departure from what there used to hearing from Nsync?â€￾

Justin: “Of course. I think that I wouldn’t do it if it weren’t. That’s the reason why I did this, uh, this project, is because , I think not just I needed a little departure, but this is just the kind of music I’ve been writing lately.â€￾

Host: “Do you prefer being on your own as opposed to a group?â€￾

Justin: “Right now I prefer being on my own because that what I’m doing, but you know uh, there six and one half a dozen to the other, you know they’re um two totally different things, you know they just have their differences.â€￾

Host: “Do you think if you do really well with this album, that’ll be the end of Nsync?â€￾

Justin: “No, not at allâ€￾

Host: “Really?â€￾

Justin: Well the last thing I’m gonna do is let the public or the media determine what’s the end of Nsync. I think we determine when the end of something is and we’re, I mean, we’re scheduled to go back in the studio next year sometime, to make another record. SO rest assure I, seriously I means, I say that with all the confidence in the world. I think we’ll make another record.â€￾

Host: “Have the guys heard your new material for the album?â€￾

Justin: “Couple of them, ah Chris has hear a lot of it, and Joey has hear er three or four songs. Haven’t played any of it for JC, and obviously, couldn’t get any of it to Russia for Lance to listen to so-“

Host: “Yeah, rightâ€￾

*Laughs*

Host: “How do you feel about the Michael Jackson comparisons?â€￾

Justin: “Um, that’s a big hat and glove to feel. But I mean, I think when someone comes out and does something especially if its just performance inspired, I think it gets compared to someone like Michael or Madonna or Janet, because they’ve been around for a little while doing it. You know Michaels been in the business for 30 years and Madonna is probably close to that to, so I think artists take from the influences and to say he’s not a influence, that would be lying. I think he’s influenced everybody in this generation of music. I think he’s influenced Nelly for that matter. But uh, just like how when people first heard Michael come on the scene he got all the comparisons to James Brown.â€￾

Host: “Yeah, exactlyâ€￾

Justin: “You know I think, I think as time goes by people will start to see what I do for what it is. Because it is something different um because not only did he inspire me so did prince, and so did Stevie wonder and so did the eagles for that matter. I’ve had so many different inspirationsâ€￾

Host: “I think um, I think its probably just with you know a few of them, and probably people will compare just because of the first single. But as you say that becomes really avident on the album when you listen to it, that that’s not the only influence there-“

Justin: “Right…right..â€￾

Host: “Which is you know a good thing, and um speaking of all the collaborations, I have a quote here from usher who says “everyone wants to be on Justin’s recordâ€￾ he never actually got on it, nor did a lot of other people why is that?â€￾

Justin: “I don’t know, thank you I’m glad he said that. I don’t know um-“

Host: “ ‘Cos there was Angie stone, there was Alicia keys, there was a lot of people floating around that were gonna be on this album, and it sounds like you choose the people who were right at the time as opposed to who’s hot. Is that right?â€￾

Justin: “That’s exactly how it isâ€￾

Host: “Yeahâ€￾

Justin: “You know to me, collaborations shouldn’t be so controlled, I mean with the Nelly collaboration on girlfriend, it was just something that we had met and we were vibing on, and he actually wanted me to do a song with him on his record. And so we sat in the studio and just kind of vibed around, and we knew if it wasn’t working after the first couple of days we weren’t going to force the issue. But I think that kind of set a prescident for the way I did this record, because it happened so organically that um, I wouldn’t do it any other way. These particular songs, it’s not like, I just did a song with Janet Jackson to do a song with Janet Jackson. She fits into the song.â€￾

Host: “Now with the album your going to be going on tour with it, is that something that’s in the works?â€￾

Justin: “I’m hoping, I’m hoping. I guess it depends on how well it does, or how…bad it may-I don’t know. I guess it just depends on the success of the record.â€￾

Host: “And Australia, are we-you know, getting a look in sometime soon?

Justin: “I’m going to be there. I promise I’m going to be there.â€￾

Host: “You haven’t been to Australia before?â€￾

Justin: “No I haven’t. I haven’t, I hear all these wonderful things about it.â€￾

Host: “Well you definitely have to come to Australia.â€￾

Justin: “IM COMING. Were working out the scheduleâ€￾

Host: “Actually we have a festival called Rumba, which um is at the end of the year-“

Justin: “I’ve heard about that-“

Host: “Really?â€￾

Host: “Yeah, you’d be great on that, so yeah that’s a good way for you to come-

Justin: “Maybe we can get there. I cant make any promises. Nothing official until I’m on the plane!â€￾


(The next part was a minute of power is this section he is asked quick questions)
She said during this part he was lying in some of the first few questions because he kept looking at his people and they were laughing.

Host: “Have you ever broken the law, anywhere in the world?â€￾

Justin: “Yesâ€￾

Host: “Have you ever been with more than one woman in the same night?â€￾

Justin: *Slight pause * “Noooooâ€￾ (weird kind of voice)

Host: “Ooh, what’s the one thing you cant live without?â€￾

Justin: “Musicâ€￾

Host: “The first thing you wash when you get in the shower?â€￾

Big pause Laughs

Justin: “My handsâ€￾

Host: “What kind of car do you drive?â€￾

Justin: “Which one?â€￾

Host: “Wha-uh how many are there?â€￾

Justin: “There’s about seven or eightâ€￾

Host: “Ok the one you drive mostly?â€￾

Justin: “I just got a new escillade truck. And I got it painted in my own color.â€￾

Host: “Which is?â€￾

Justin: “Horizon blueâ€￾

Host: “Mhm, okayâ€￾

Host: “And uh, do you scrunch or fold your toilet paper?â€￾

Justin: “Um, I fold itâ€￾

Host: “You’re a folder?â€￾ (Really surprised)

Justin: “Yeah I’m neatâ€￾

Host: “So few people are folders!â€￾

Justin: “Turns into a scrunch after the wipe doesn’t it?â€￾

Host: “Yeah pretty much but um-“

Justin: “Lets all be realistic, doesn’t matter if you fold itâ€￾

Host: “No when it first goes on it makes a difference whether you’re a folder or a scruncherâ€￾

Justin: “Okayâ€￾

Host: “Which celebrity would you most like to have sex with?â€￾

Justin: Pause “Halle berryâ€￾

Host: “Hmmâ€￾

Host: “Have you ever stolen-“

Justin: “NO WAIT. I take that back Jennifer Lopezâ€￾

Host: “Okayâ€￾

Justin: “NO WAIT- nah, I’m just kiddingâ€￾

Host: “What age were you first with a girl? You can intemperate that any way you likeâ€￾

Justin: “Keehâ€￾ (Makes this weird noise)

Justin: “I can intemperate any way I like? I did a duet with someone when I was like eight.â€￾

Host: “Really?â€￾

Justin: “Hee hee, squeaked by that oneâ€￾ *whistles in relief *

Host: “What type of aftershave do you wear?â€￾

Justin: “Um, I don’t use aftershave. I use facial lotiooon.â€￾
Host: “What was the last CD you bought?â€￾

Justin: “Coldplay, rush of blood to the head.â€￾

Host: “Great album! Good tasteâ€￾

Host: “Have you ever gotten yourself drunk and done something really stupid?â€￾

Justin: “Of course!â€￾

Host: “And um if you had to kill one celebrity who would it be?â€￾

Justin: “If I had to kill one celebrity-um Howard Sternâ€￾

Host: “Ohh okayâ€￾

Justin: “Just his voice-Reiigh Reighhâ€￾ (makes this imitation noise)

Normal interview again:
Host: “Which city has the craziest fans, cos some countries you go to they just go CRAZY!â€￾

Justin: “…(says something I’m not sure of) ….but I think Spain has some pretty crazy- I’ve had things ripped off of me before. It’s just a different level of excitement, they get so excited they have to take something with them, even if it’s a BODY PART, or a finger they want to take it with themâ€￾

Host: “Do you get hassled a lot here, when your in LA?â€￾

Justin: “In LA it’s a bit different, I mean kids are kids everywhere around the world. In LA, it’s a little bit easier to get around, I mean obviously, there’s a list of no no’s. One being shopping malls, arcades, places where there are a lot of people at the one time. But I still go get my groceries, I still put on my baseball hat on and get my groceries-“

Host: “You can do normal things..â€￾

Justin: “Yeah, yeah I make an effort to do normal things. I don’t want to get consumed with the whole lifestyle of a celebrity, I don’t really look at myself as a celebrity just somebody to get to do what they love to do.â€￾

Host: “You’re in the press so much though, I’m imagining you’ve got photographers following you around the whole time, is that right?â€￾

Justin: “From the looks of things, I guess I do. Honestly, I don’t pay attention to that so much, uh, to me I live my life, I don’t think its my responsibility, or that I owe the photographers or the media, and this is no shape or form, please don’t take offence to this-you know I just don’t think I owe a response, of someone else’s perspective to what they think my life is. Cos to me I do what I do but at the same time I have my own life, and I have things that I like to do in that life. So I’m not going to change those things because somebody wants to take a picture of me with so and so, and out it out in the press that that’s who I’m with, or what have you.â€￾

Host: “Do they get nasty? When you know, because I hear of photographers yelling out horrible things and-“

Justin: “They get nasty, its so funny man, I go to a nightclub and I go out to get in my car to leave, and they don’t understand why I wont pose for pictures. And to me, its just not photo shoot time, I go to a club with my friends to have a drink, to have a good time, to let loose. You know photo shoot, is something I associate with work. So I’m not gonna stop, and pose for pictures, and that just I mean and I don’t mean it in a nasty way. I have to live my life.â€￾

Host: “Yeah otherwise you’d be doing it every secondâ€￾

Justin: “Exactlyâ€￾

Host: “P.Diddy the other day I heard, he was talking about you and giving you a great rap. Did he give you a diamonds encrusted watch for your birthday?â€￾

Justin: “He didâ€￾

Host: “Oh man, imagine how much that would be worth.â€￾

Justin: “It pays to be Puffys friend.â€￾

Host: “Yeah he’s very generous. What are his parties like, we hear about his parties all the time, are they as good as they sound?â€￾

* Justin sighs or something*

Host: “They are! And who was it, I can’t remember who told me-“

Justin: “YUUUP! You should’ve seen his last party I just went to-“

Host: “That was for the MTV awards?â€￾

Justin: “Vmas, vmas.â€￾

Host: “Okay tell me about it, tell all of us out there that would never get invited what we could expect from one of his parties.â€￾

Justin: “Well first of all there was probably about 10,000 people at this party. There were naked women dancing from the ceiling, hanging. Hanging from the ceiling and dancing. Everyone was given there own bottle of cristol when they entered the door. There were gift bags for certain celebrities, um- (whispers) I got one!â€￾

Host: “And what’s in them?â€￾

Justin: “Probably about up to 10, 000 dollars worth of things. It was just uh ridiculous how well put together this party was, and it was the biggest party I have ever seen, and I don’t, I will forever wonder how it was so incredible.â€￾
Host: “They’re pretty notorious aren’t they? If he’s having a party everybody wants to be at?â€￾

Justin: “They’re legendaryâ€￾

Host: “Well, they’ll be a big party if your album goes number one. It comes out November elevenâ€￾
(When she said this I assume it is the Australian release date)

Justin: “Yeah, hey goodâ€￾

Host: “Yup, so good luckâ€￾

Justin: “I can’t wait.â€￾
