Ricky didn't say anything about his ARIA no-show. It seems to be rather a taboo subject - there were no reports in the media at all about it. They didn't even say that he was a no-show, fans just had to work that out by watching the ARIAS & seeing that he didn't show up. He probably just didn't feel like flying back to Sydney. He had performed several shows there, then gone up to Brisbane & performed a show. Several days later he was due to perform in Melbourne. He probably wanted the few days between his Brisbane & Melbourne shows to rest up. He was seen surfing on the Gold Coast (about 1/2 an hour's drive from Brisbane) so he might have wanted to spend his few days break surfing rather than flying back to Sydney to present an award (which would have barely lasted 5 minutes).
