A breathtaking mansion from the 19th century, in Mexico City, was the chosen location by the Puerto Rican star Ricky Martin for the video of 'Y todo queda en nada', included in his latest CD "Almas del silencio".
As ESCENARIO told in advance, the video will have its worldwide premiere next Monday, December 15, in the program "Despierta América", broadcasted by Univision network.
The songwriter trusted in the talent of the Mexican director Gustavo Garzón for the representation of this history of loving in a stubborn way. Garzón has collaborated with Ricky in other videos, such as the video for the song "Perdido sin ti".
"I wanted to put the emotions that a man goes through when he's so in love with the woman that he knows is not the ideal one for him", said Martin in a press release about the concept of the video, the fourth from his latest Spanish-language CD after 2 years of musical silence.
"Tal vez" and "Jaleo" were filmed in Argentina and Brasil under the direction of Kacho López. The next one was "Juramento" in the Californian desert with the director Joseph Kahn. "Y todo queda en nada" was written by Estefano.
On another subject, on November 18 Martin was awarded in the American Music Awards as the Best Latin Pop Artist in a ceremony held on the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. The award is granted by the Anglo audience to the most important artists in the music industry.
Nowadays, the songwriter is in his recording studio in Miami finishing his next English-language CD which is expected to be released in the middle of 2004.
After finishing this promotional tour, Ricky will have some winter vacations to recharge his energy for the beginning of the new year.
