Intimate Portrait JC Chasez
By William Van Meter

JC Chasez is a member of N'Sync. No, not Pharrell's buddy or the wannabe astronaut, but the one who boldly experimented with his hair color. Chasez, 27, recently sang on the Basement Jaxx track "Plug It In" and has just released his solo album, Schizophrenic. I tracked him down via spy satellite for some titillating boy talk.

Spin: So "Some Girls (Dance With Women)"? What the hell are you talking about?

JC: Basically the song is about stepping into a hot spot, doing a lap, and checking everybody out. All guys like to watch a girl-on-girl show, and it happens every night, and nobody's ever really talked about it [in a song]. Everybody's always talking about popping bottles of this and "I'm about to feak this girl." But there are so many girls dancing with other girls for three reasons: One is, like, dude, she's got her eye on you, and she's gonna work you out on her girlfriend to get your attention. Another is that she wants to get the hell away from you. And the last is she's just not into boys, period.

Spin: Actual girl-girl porno is always gross because they are totally fake lesbians with huge press-on nails and big hair.

JC: I wasn't going into all that.

Spin: What's another club phenomenon that someone hasn't written about yet?

JC: If I could think of something, I would write a song
about it.

Spin: You should write a song about waiting in line for the urinal.

JC: Yeah. Or the after-parties.

Spin: Where did you meet up with the Basement Jaxx?

JC: I'm friends with [trance guy] BT, and BT is friends with those guys because in that electronica realm everybody knows everybody else. I was like, dude, I have two days to sit on my ass in London and I can't think of s**t to do. Then the Basement Jaxx called and said they were in the studio. So I rolled over, and there were like, "Get in the booth! We're going to put you on this song right now- just sing anything," so I started singing weird phrases. After I did that, for like, 45 minutes, they put a structure to it and wrote the tune right there. I came back to the states, and they called me and were like, "This song is the s**t, man!"

Spin: S**t, man! You're getting all foul-mouthed and racy.

JC: I guess so. I didn't really think about it- I just did it. I have a record called "All Day Long I Dream About Sex."

Spin: ADIDAS- I get it! Thanks, JC!

I take it William Van Meter is a fan? He seemed pretty excited to talk to him lol.

No, not Pharrell's buddy

Least they didn't say his name, but why the reference? <_<
