I guess by now the majority of you have heard that Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are splitting. It was a shocker for me. Did anyone else see it coming? Iknow the tabloids have said stuff in the past, but who believes the majority of that stuff. What so you all think about the split?

I guess on can never know the true reasons for their seperating and Cruise filing for divorce. I feel though that it must be very hard for any celebrity couple to have half a chance of a lasting marriage because of the stress of such a life. I mean really, these two did not just have normal problems to deal with. I think they did an excellent juggling act considering their circumstances but at the end of the day it must wear pretty darn thin..no matter how strong the relationship is.

I have no fantasies or desire for fame for this reason. Sure...a private jet may be fun, but in a lot of ways it was a necessity for them.  Pretty wierd kind of necessity don't you think?

It is their talent and admiration for each other that was part of their attraction..would leading a more 'normal' life solve the problem? I'm not so sure. I think they have been dancing on a double edged sword for a very long time now.

I am truly saddened by their parting and although in my ideal mind it would be nice for them to still be together I think what ever makes each of them happy, and their children, in the long run, is what matters.

It would scare me to be in a relationship that was bigger than myself and my love. A commodity, a product, a love story. It would be tempting to try to work with it as they did..but in the long run the machine that makes it is stronger than the soft human flesh that inspires it.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if this was the one FACADE the two of them truly concocted to escape the machine..so they could live in peace=)

Ah...one can only dream..

I'm not shocked by it all. I just enjoyed pretending for a while that they could win=) Let us hope they do in the end by finding true happiness elsewhere in their lives,

nice talking,

pussinboots

p.s. pretty hard to imagine them apart='( but I wish them all the very best..Good-luck Tom and Nicole!

Like any hollywood couple , they were bound to split. They even had differences in their way of raising children. So I saw it coming.

Very well put Pussinboots. That FACADE is a good dream. Do you think that ever really happens? Not just with the couples, but also people who want out of the limelight?

Hello QT,

Hmmm..the mind boggles at the possibilities=)

What is really going to bake your noodle is if I DID have proof that people have done this.. and you agree that it would be a wonderful thing..would you really want to know?

Sadly I know in my heart that in the case of Tom and Nicole they have had a right struggle over the years..but they have a special bond that hopefully from now on will be mostly positive. They have two beautiful children to take care of and a chance to fully realize themselves as individuals. In the big picture of things this divorce may be the best thing that has happened for them. Perhaps when living at the gates of Babylon this is their best path to greatness=) I think we should trust them on their decision.

nice meeting you,

A columnist claimed yesterday that the split between TOM CRUISE and NICOLE KIDMAN had sunk to each of them hiring private investigators. Cruise's spokesperson was quoted denying the notion. Further confirmation that the story is incorrect has arisen today from the organization accused as Kidman's sleuth; they are expecting a retraction.

I will have to say that I never saw this coming. I thought that they were the the happiest couple in Hollywood.
I just hope that they remain friends for the sake of their 2 kids.

Yeah, Hollywood couples are bound to divorce, especially when both people are huge celebrities like Tom and Nicole.
