January 30, 2003 - Today kicked off the week-long 44th Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, an annual event where celebrities are teamed up with pros to raise money for charity by playing in a golf tournament. Doc states, "if a friend gives you a copy of this album, I would question their friendship." Doc goes on to say, "Never before have I heard such a feeble attempt at making a record. Not only are the lyrics pathetic, but his vocal quality is horrid. I am not anti-Backstreet Boys, or anything like that. January 18, 2003 - Sarah Martin posted a new message on her official Yahoo group saying her wedding to Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean has been postponed, not cancelled. "I will keep this brief and to the point, k? Alex and I have not CANCELLED the Wedding," she said. "We are POSTPONING our Wedding because we need more time!" She added, "We are taking a little extra time to grow together. We want to make this right, thats all. We are very much in love and we feel that there is no need to rush through this. Its the best thing ever, actually. We are both very proud of each other for taking marriage so seiously. Its not like having a barbecue, its a lifelong committment that we feel needs to be nurtured. January 18, 2003 - Gay New York guide Next magazine caught up with Backstreet Boys star Kevin Richardson, where he addressed the band's popularity in the gay community. "I've always been totally aware of our gay fans," he explains. "They're in every audience all the time. I'm totally comfortable with it. We meet all kinds of fans all the time-in our hotels, coming in and out from shows, shaking hands and taking pictures..." January 18, 2003 - A fan on the Backstreet Boys forum at LiveDaily.com claims to have received an e-mail from AJ McLean's father Bob who insists despite the cancellation of his wedding to Sarah Martin, the singer has not fallen off the wagon. "I can tell you he is NOT back in rehab, I just talked to him as he was going into one of his AA meetings and all is fine with him," Bob said. "He does attend regular AA meeting every week, like most recoveing addicts do, there is nothing out of the ordinary about that. January 17, 2003 - Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean and fiance Sarah Martin have called off their wedding that had been planned on Valentine's Day. Martin's official Yahoo group tells fans, "Sarah and Alex have called off their wedding, and have sent out their appologies to anyone that has been inconvenienced. It was also stated that they appreciated everyone's kindness and support during this time of privacy." As for speculation over why the couple have done this, the site added, "Please remember when on other message boards if you see anyone spreading rumors and gossip do not argue with them, as this is what they want. January 16, 2002 - Despite its disappointing sales, Nick Carter's 'Now Or Never' was voted the best album by respondents at popdirt.com in our latest poll. The Backstreet Boys star got 28.8% for the album which in part led to the group filing suit against its label Jive Records. He is apart of the lawsuit, so Jive is apparently now trying its best to force Nick to cancel shows and appearances to make him appear cruel to his fans. MTVAsia.com says Nick Carter has canceled his trip to Singapore citing "scheduling conflicts" as the main reason, Nick has decided to cancel his appearances at the 2003 MTV Asia Awards and the regional press junket and showcase at Hard Rock Cafe. Jive has also limited Nick to doing only a 17-date tour. Fans in hundreds of cities throughout the world are very upset by this. Jive is even preventing Nick from touring his home state of Florida. As if that's not enough, Jive is also pulling the plug on Aaron's street team as well, even though Aaron has nothing to do with the lawsuit. Rumor has it that their homepages will be disabled too. Presumably in reference to a photograph with fiance Sarah Martin, they wrote, "It's lucky Mr AJ Mcleane (sic) is part of the biggest boy band in the States because, believe us, if this bobble-hatted, ridiculously side-burned individual had an honest job like a butcher, a baker or indeed, a candlestick maker, there's no way on Earth he would be smooching up to a hottie of this calibre. January 12, 2003 - Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter says that the intimate setting of his upcoming solo shows will allow for him to interact with his fans. "I wanna be dirty," Nick said. Brothers Justin Tosco and Nick Tosco and sister Hannah Tosco will be opening the shows February 17-25. "Nick's got, like, a two-part tour. The first part is a bunch of East Coast dates, and the next is a bunch of Midwest dates, and we're doing all of the East Coast dates during, like, the second week in February," Justin said. These photos were taken June 6, 2002. Kevin, Joe Lieberman, Senator Hillary Clinton, and Robert Kennedy, Jr. were trying to stop George W Bush from making changes to several environmental laws. January 9, 2003 - elgato1019_1 writes "Backstreet Boys fansite DLSOnline.net has unveiled a clip of an exclusive Nick Carter track the site has come upon. The Carter track is a song called 'Wanna Shout' that was produced by former Blackstreet member Teddy Riley. Riley offered Michael Jackson the song for his album 'Invincible.' Since Michael didn't use the song, Riley offered it to Nick. Nick is using the song as a bonus track on certain copies of "Now or Never" and also as a B-side on certain singles. I'm not sure if this new version is a remix of an old Michael song (perhaps 'Scream') or if it actually features new vocals by Michael himsef. Anyway, the lyrics on the song are very deep, dealing with drugs, poverty, war, etc. You could say that Nick is sort of rapping on the track instead of singing. Our first two babies (Tyk and Litty) are doing exceptionally well. They are wonderful dogs, just didn't know if having Baylee, we would see the dogs compete against him for our attention. Tyk, especially each time Baylee cries he is running to make sure he is okay. We have to fight to keep Tyk out of the bassinet. He just wants to cuddle with his new little brother. Trying to teach him that it is a NO NO! At first Litty was a little intimidated by Baylee, but has since warmed up to him being around. Our first few night's having Baylee home was an amazing adjusting period in our life. Things are normally so hectic and so grueling that normally when we go to sleep we are out until we are forced to wake up. No more of that. January 5, 2002 - Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean tells In Touch magazine that getting and staying sober has been easy with the support of his fiance Sarah Martin and his bandmates. AJ cleaned up his act, and he has since credited his Martin with putting his hard-partying days behind him. "She stopped drinking too, while I was in rehab and has been very supportive," he says. He's also helped by a non-alcoholic brew. "Thank God they invented O'Douls," he says. "I reach for that and I'm fine. Sobriety was a test for me, but in the end it was pretty easy."
