June 27, 2003 - elgato writes "Blabbermouth.net reported that Tommy Lee was producing for Nick Carter's album, slated to come out early 2004. A lot of haters bashed the idea. Tommy then bashed them on his website saying, "If you go to the postings you will see moronic statements by many who just don't get life/creativity/exploration and music at all! Am I never supposed to write a song for anyone else?... Am I never to change my style as I and music evolve???... It just blows my mind how retarded people are!! I've been asked to write for Ozzy, I've written many songs for the Crue, my solo stuff etc... Who gives a flyin fu** who I write with! I only want to work with talented artists! Fu**... I'm not joining the Backstreet Boys, I was asked by Nick after he heard my last 2 CD's production and sound if I would help him get a more aggressive sound for his new CD!!... And why not?... That mother fu**er can sing his nuts off!!...And what?... Is he never to do anything but pop music?? He's a huge rock music fan... You all would be very surprised... Do I judge your work!?!!?... Trust me... It wouldn't get me off posting to everyone how you burn the burgers you flip at Jack in the Box!! So run along..... Your boss is calling you. Love Tommy Fu**in Lee." While Tommy is working with new friend Nick, he's also rumored to be back with Pamela Anderson. Read fan comments at Blabbermouth.net and Tommy Lee's response at Joysmayhem.com."

June 27, 2003 - elgato writes "Nick Carter appeared on E! earlier this week. He talked about American Juniors, his brother Aaron, and his new album. Khabn43 from the Backstreet Boys forum at LiveDaily.com summarized the conversation: "He said he never wants Aaron to experience the hardships he had to and he's gonna protect him because he's his older brother, he said Aaron should experience some so he could learn but not all the ones Nick had to go through.""

June 27, 2003 - elgato writes "MTV News got the scoop on the four upcoming solo albums from members of the Backstreet Boys. AJ McLean's album will be "rock in vein." On his previous solo venture as Johnny No Name, AJ did covers of many rock acts like Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine, and Methods of Mayhem. Nick Carter's album will also be rock, seeing as how "he's working with none other than Tommy Lee, who will be assisting as a producer." Nick is also co-writing with another collaborator not yet named. Howie Dorough's Spanish/English album will be heavily Latin-influenced. He's already working with Emilio Estefan, Steven Morales, Gen Rubin, and many more collaborators; he's also getting help from his good friend Ricky Martin. And Brian Littrell's album will be Gospel, mixing pop with his Christian background. The group's lawyers were quick to tell MTV, "It's important to point out that the group has not disbanded. They certainly intend to record as a group in the future, they just don't know when." Note that the group can't record until their lawsuit is settled. Read more."

She writes, "I'm here to announce that the 'trupletas' have done it again. lol. we went to the taping of American Jrs, Jenna asked Nick about his nipple piercings, and he was completely shocked that we knew. He said, 'I just got that done 2 days ago. How do you know about it?' The look on his face was priceless! We met him outside of the studios and got a few picture of him. Tony was with him. Nick also said his nipples were very sore and he said, 'They hurt like hell!' We asked about his album, and he said he's working on it. Pictures should be up in a couple of days! Nick looked hott!""

June 23, 2003 - Anonymous writes "I was walking on Rodeo Drive last weekend and saw Nick Carter and his brother Aaron Carter walking down the street. They didn't have any body gaurds with them but wore hats and stayed to themselves. They both had Starbucks cups and seemed to be having a really good time with each other. The Backstreet Boys star seemed to be really protective of his younger brother. He was constantly looking around to see if anybody had noticed them and when they crossed the street, Nick reached out and grabbed Aaron's arm. It was obvious the two are really close."

June 23, 2003 - elgato writes "AJ McLean was a special guest at friend Shane West's 25th birthday party which was held at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip. The event featured several on-stage performances, and all the proceeds went to VH1's Save the Music Foundation. AJ was also one of the performers that night. His set was nothing short of amazing and the choice of songs performed may be a hint at the type of music that will be on his upcoming solo album. The U-Daily News weighed in on the Backstreet Boys star's performance saying he "took a solo turn on stage with an impressive pop-free song set." So, you probably shouldn't expect to hear any pop music on his CD."

June 23, 2003 - elgato writes "When Kevin Richardson was in Kentucky hyping up his Music Workshop, he stopped by the radio station 99.7 to talk on the air and greet the fans there. Check out pictures of the Backstreet Boys star from the station's website located here."

I think all the guys but Nick will need to wait also. Nick has his own contract with Jive and that's why he can do the solo thing. I hope they all can get around this and do their own work, but I guess time will tell.""

June 20, 2003 - elgato writes "Misha from the BSB Forum at LiveDaily.com has news on Nick Carter from BSBLatino.com: "According to a conversation between representatives of BSBLatino Club and Nick's management we can say this is the week when Nick will finish his role in the movie, "The Hollow", and he will begin recording his new CD. June 19, 2003 - elgato writes "Kevin Richardson has been in Kentucky hyping up his new music workshop whose classes will open to the general public in August. Bhank from the Backstreet Boys forum at LiveDaily.com spent all morning searching for Kevin throughout the area. She went to the local radio station but he wasn't there. She did get to guest DJ, where she played 'Quit Playing Games.' Then she headed to the TV station and got to meet Kevin there. She also said that someone "asked him how his baby was! LOL! He was like "I don't have a baby!" " Kevin told her that he and his wife Kristin will be heading to New Mexico for their 3-year anniversary. The fan then said that "We watched the tape of the news and we looked like GEEKS! They had us do this thing after Kev left-we said "Thanks Kevin! We love the Backstreet Boys! Good morning Kentuckiana!" She was mad when she found out that Kevin actually did go to that radio station even though the DJ told her he wasn't coming. The radio station website said: "Thanks to Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson for stopping by this morning to talk about a new Music Industry Workshop he is starting up here in Louisville! After 10 years in the biz, Kevin's learned a thing or two, and wants to pass his knowledge on to his Kentucky peeps! They'll teach you about the business aspect, producing, performing...no matter what you're interested in!" Read on for her full account of the events."

June 19, 2003 - elgato writes "AJ gave commentary on 'I Want it That Way' which made VH1's '100 Greatest Songs of the Past 25 Years' countdown. It came in at #61. AJ McLean was on VH1's '100 Greatest Songs of the Past 25 Years' show last night. He said how the Backstreet Boys never expected the song to blow up the way it did and how it's still big today. A Rolling Stone guy said it's the perfect pop song though the lyrics don't make any sense. AJ said it can mean anything to anybody, that you want it that way, you're way--whether it's your life, your marriage, your relationship, or whatever. Deborah Gibson said she liked the 'Tell me why' part, where Nick Carter makes it sound like "Tell me wy-eee.""

June 19, 2003 - elgato writes "Two Backstreeet Boys fans from the Backstreet Boys forum at LiveDaily.com recently got to talk to people very close to Nick Carter who gave them insight into his whereabouts. Connie B. from LD says, "He'll be in LA till at least mid August, that is coming from one of his crew members of El Diablo (Nick's race boat). I'm sure it will be longer if he records in LA too." Mrs_Nickolas_Carter from LD said, "Bob (Nick's father) said that Nick is in L.A., working with Tommy Lee... And as far as I know, the boat might not even be ready for the Sarasota races." Even MTV spoke to Nick's management, and they reported that "Nick Carter has started work on his second solo project, for which he's co-written several songs with a collaborator." So don't be surprised to hear the former Motley Crue drummer on Nick's new album, due out later this year."

June 18, 2003 - elgato writes "Kevin Richardson was in Louisville, Kentucky yesterday to set up his own recording studio there. Fox News interviewed him and bhank from the Backstreet Boys forum at LiveDaily.com pulled a direct quote from the broadcast. The reporter asked him: "And the real big question-what's going on with the Backstreet Boys?! What's next?" Kevin responded, "Well, as you know I'm busy-I just finished the Broadway musical 'Chicago'-I'm getting ready to do it in London. Brian's enjoying his brand new baby boy. Nick is doing another solo project. AJ is recording a solo project. Howie's recording a solo project. But we're not broken up and when the time is right and we're all focused as a group-we will do another record." So, all the guys minus Kevin will release solo album, probably all this year. June 16, 2003 - elgato writes "News Channel 19 of Huntsville, Alabama has an online video up featuring Kevin Richardson. Kevin, along with Backstreet Boys bandmate Howie Dorough, was in town to pitch the city the idea of building a hotel and entertainment complex. Though Howie was not in the video, the news reporter did say that she saw Howie and Kevin pull up in their limo, however only Kevin is actually in the news clip. Kevin and Howie want the project to be like the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. They're hoping to attract more entertainment events to the city which would bring money to them, the company they work for, and the city itself--making it a good investment for everybody. The Peabody company that they work for has built successful projects in the Carribean as well as other parts of the United States, and they feel that Huntsville is an excellent cite for this new project. After Kevin visited sick kids in the local hospital, he and Howie headed over to the Madison Square mall to hold a public forum and answer any questions local citizens may have about the project. Check out the video by clicking on the 'Melissa Stephens Reports' link below Kevin's picture here."

She says that the guys answered fans' questions and then took on questions from the press. Kevin said that just he and Howie are involved in this project, but the other guys in the group might join in later once it's further developed. The project should be fully developed within two years. In regards to BSB, Howie said they are just on an extended hiatus but will be around as long as the Eagles and Aerosmith; so there is no need to even talk about breaking up. Kevin said he's doing more acting, and Howie talked about his upcoming solo CD due out later this year (which got cheers from the crowd).
