He basically said that they definately have a chance, as long as they're having fun; all the contestants beat thousands of kids to make the final 16, so it's a big deal. The girl posted, "Oh my god - I went to 'The Fighting Temptations' premiere tonight, and one of the first people to arrive was Nick Carter, and I was the only one that noticed him at first, so I started screaming for him, then everybody else starts screaming. He kept turning around and like giving piece signs and blowing kisses to the crowd. It was crazy I had definitely got his attention cause when he would turn around he'd look towards my way right. Well after screaming for what seems to be forever, we finally had stop cause he was doing interviews with everybody, so I figured he wasn't gonna come to us cause he didnt take pictures with us at JoJos in-studio. So like 45 mins later... he runs across and goes straight to me and shakes my hand and he's all nice to meet you baby..." Read her full account here."

He said, AJ is "fine and sober. I'm very proud of him." AJ and Nick Carter met Howie in Orlando recently to celebrate his birthday. They discussed ideas for the next group album. Howie's album is meant to fill the void until the next group album comes out; he expects his album to come out this year. He also said some of the other Backstreet Boys may appear on each other's respective solo albums. For example, while in Orlando, Nick added some stuff to one of Howie's songs. AJ did too. So there's a good chance they'll appear on each other's albums. Nick also said the album will be jam-packed with the likes of Rodney and Fred Jerkins, Teddy Riley of Blackstreet, and possibly Elton John. The song was Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter's 'Payback' and came on a compilation CD in General Mills cereal boxes, along with songs by people like Aaron Carter, Britney Spears, *NSYNC, and others. In the song, Nick sings "...you stupid motherfu**er... Payback!" The mother was shocked to hear her 9 year old daughter Aubrey singing the same line. And yes, she did say the f-word. Nick said that most artists experiment behind the scenes and he just experimented in front of everyone. He also talked about how he and Tommy Lee have been doing lots of writing and whatnot. The StarShrine rep asked him about his piercings. He said he got both nipples pierced. She asked him for pictures and he said that fans will get them soon enough. For the award, Nick thanked his fans for supporting him through these tough times (this is probably a reference to the Jane and Bob Carter situation). Download the interview at Boymostlikely.com."

September 10, 2003 - elgato writes "A writer for Tennessean.com spotted Backstreet Boys star Brian Littrell at The Palm on September 4th. Brian was there having lunch with Terry Hemmings, President and CEO of Provident Music Group. Apparently Brian is looking to put his solo album out on a Christian label and not on Jive Records, the label his group has had trouble with. Jordan Kellar, Brian's lawyer, said, "He grew up singing in churches, at weddings and funerals. This is where his true musical love is. Brian always has expressed a spirituality in Backstreet Boys' album liner notes and through other venues, so this will be no surprise to many fans." Provident Music Group houses artists like Michael W. Smith, Jars of Clay, Third Day, and Joy Williams. A few months ago, MTV News reported that some of the artists appearing on Brian's Gospel album were R&B singer Monica and Provident's own Michael W. Smith. Read more."

He writes, "Nick Lachey’s solo debut, the unfortunately-titled 'SoulO', is nowhere near as embarrassing as Nick Carter's 'Now Or Never', but Mr. Jessica Simpson is no JT (and he's certainly no Ricky Martin, which is probably a more appropriate point of comparison). Like Carter, Lachey seems stuck in another decade." Read more.

According to the Boston Globe, those present for the opening were of course Kevin and Marcus, but also "a slew of music industry types including Sony recording artist Rachel Loy (she recently signed with the label), Boston native Dre Robinson (a rap artist Siskind just signed), DJ/producer Clinton Sparks, and former Cars keyboardist Greg Hawkes." September 8, 2003 - elgato writes "Fans from the Backstreet Boys Forum at LiveDaily.com are rejoicing at the news that Nick Carter has finally cut his hair. Since the Now or Never tour, he's been growing it out long and covering it up with a bandana. Today, fans got word that Nick (along with Aaron) headed up to Toronto for Hilary Duff's birthday party. That's probably not the reason he cut his hair. Nick and Aaron will shoot the video for 'She Wants Me' while in Toronto. THAT is probably why he cut his hair. Anyway, fans who've spotted Nick in Toronto say that his new haircut is like the way it was when the Backstreet Boys did VH1's 'Men Strike Back.' Take a look at this photo to see what Nick may look like now here."

September 4, 2003 - elgato writes "Roxy from the Backstreet Dirt Yahoo Group says, "I wanted to let you know that i was at that taping and i was literally just FEET away from nick and he was talking the WHOLE TIME lol...laughing and telling stories mostly, but he did get asked about the Boys and his new album and whatnot. there was a lot of stuff going on around me, but i distinctly heard him say 'there was a meeting with Jive just recently' then he grinned all big and was like 'so yeah, everything's looking good. or better at least.' not sure what that means, and that may be a pointless piece of gossip lol but yeah, he said that. and apparently he nly owns one pair of pants (those cutoff army ones), one pair of shoes (the adidas he traded his converse in for) and a few sweaters (one of which we've seen once already on American Juniors). oh yeah, and he also forgot that hair can get CUT cuz it was LOOONNNGGG lol." I'm not sure if he was talking about the Backstreet Boys situation with Jive or his own. Probably the latter, seeing as how Jive is taking interest in his collaborations with Tommy Lee and Nick will be appearing on MTV's Punk'd, The Wade Robson Project, and Girl Makes Band."

September 4, 2003 - elgato writes "According to BoyMostLikely.com, Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter will be promoting powerboat racing on the Regis and Kelly show this Friday. The site says, "Nick will be taking Regis and Kelly out on a Superboat this Friday to promote the sport. Whether this segment will air live or be recorded and shown later is unclear at this stage. It was apparently said two weeks ago on the show that Nick would be co-hosting on September 5 (which is Friday), but the show's website doesn't mention Nick at all. We do know from Marc (Nick's racing bud) that Nick's definitely taking Regis and Kelly out, so it could be worth watching/taping on Friday just in case.""

September 3, 2003 - elgato writes "Handle_WithCare from the Backstreet Boys forum at LiveDaily.com says, "Yeah baby we did it! Nick's video is THE most requested video on MTV Latin America, as you all know, it all started when Jive wasn't planning on releasing 'I Got You' in Latin America even though Nick's previous videos had all been very succesful and had all reached #1, but thanks to all the emails fans sent to MTV, Jive agreed to release the video and now its #1. So now that the Latin American VMA's are so close I'm sure Nick will get invited like last year. Nick beat such artists as Audioslave, Linkin Park, Good Charlotte, Evanescence, Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, etc.""

September 3, 2003 - Anonymous writes "Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and his brother Aaron Carter will be attending Hilary Duff's charity birthday party on September 7. The party is in the evening in Toronto, so how that jibes with Nick going to the New York races on the same day is unclear. Information on the party is apparently on hilaryduff.com under 'Charity'. Tickets are available to the general public, as I understand it, but they aren't cheap. Click here to read more about where the event will be held and how to purchase tickets."

Anyone who's seen Punk'd knows that in order to Punk someone, you have to get Punk'd first. So fans are speculating that maybe Kevin Richardson Punks Nick as well, enabling Nick to Punk Tommy Lee.
