June 25, 2004 - Despite swirling rumors about the Backstreet Boys breaking up, Kevin Richardson said that was never even considered during their three year absence. ''We were very burned out,'' Richardson told The Tennessean. ''We weren't enjoying it. 'We needed time to get perspective, to be thankful, be grateful. But once Brian called last year, and he said he talked to the other boys and they're ready, that's when we hooked up and went on Oprah (Winfrey's show). We were all hungry again.'' Read more.

June 25, 2004 - AiRMERiCAxAO writes "The Associated Press reports Backstreet Boys star Kevin Richardson understands that the colon is a difficult subject to discuss, but also acknowledges it's importance. His own father died in 1991 from the cancer. Kevin points out that "...if it can save someone's life, it's worth it." June 25, 2004 - The Columbian reports that eighth-grader Amanda Davis, as she prepares herself for one of five radiation treatments and two chemotherapy sessions she must endure every seven days, got the chance to meet the Backstreet Boys thanks to Make-A-Wish Foundation. She was flown to Los Angeles, where the group sang to her and signed several pieces of memorabilia from her trip. Davis is suffering from a life-threatening form of cancer called Nerofibronsacoma. June 25, 2004 - Us Weekly profiled Nick Carter and Paris Hilton's "rocky romance" where a friend of the Backstreet Boys star admitted, "She is super-high-maintenance," citing "trust issues" as the main issue in their romance. Another pal said, "They are figuring things out. They want to make things work." For Paris' part, she told Us, "I hope to marry by [my mid-twenties] and have a family. I have no idea who it will be with. Don't know if it will be Nick or not."

June 21, 2004 - Us Weekly reports that Nick Carter's girlfriend Paris Hilton was spotted kissing at the Maxim Hot 100 party in Las Vegas on June 12th at Body English. A friend asked Leto about kissing the heiress, and he responded, "I don't have a girlfriend - and whatever, it's Vegas!" Later at 4 AM, a wobbly Hilton said next to Leto at his table and tried to talk to him, but he ignored her. Paris then climbed across several tables to say hello to the club's owner, Brent Bolthouse. Leto's rep insists the pair only said hello.

June 21, 2004 - USA Today caught up with Ashlee Simpson to talk about her new MTV reality show 'The Ashlee Simpson Show' as well as reports that had her dating Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter. "No! That is SO random. When I heard that, I was dying laughing," she said. "I'm actually not dating anybody. (Singer) Ryan Cabrera and I were dating, but we broke up. June 21, 2004 - RockTheVote.com reports Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and girlfriend Paris Hilton attended a birthday party for Shane West and agent Eric Podwall at the Sunset Room in Hollywood hosted by Ralph Lauren and Rock the Vote. June 14, 2004 - The new popbitch.com newsletter reports that Paris Hilton renewed her "friendship" with 'Australia Idol' finalist Rob Mills last month when she was booked for an appearance at a St. Kilda nightclub in Melbourne. Part way through the event, the club manager walked into the night office and found Paris sitting on the edge of her desk, dress hitched up, with Millsy between her legs, performing oral contortions on the girlfriend of Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter. When the manager apologized for barging in on them, Paris barely looked up, graciously replying "That's cool, we won't be too long."

June 14, 2004 - News of the World spoke with Rick Salomon about his sex tape he made with Paris Hilton, and subsequent release to the world which has angered not only Paris, but her current boyfriend Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. "Nick Carter supposedly wants to kill me. That's what Paris told me," Salomon revealed. "But I saw her at a film festival and ended up talking to her. When the tape came out I went to Mexico for a month so we hadn't spoken. We talked for a couple of hours and I said, 'I know you're cool'. It wasn't the way she would have liked to have become an international star but it happened and I became the bad guy. I didn't make any money and it hurt me in a lot of different ways. "The [breakup] rumors are spreading just because it has lasted so long, and it's not really typical of me--or her--to be together with somebody for that long," Nick reasoned. June 10, 2004 - Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter tells USA Today he was at the L.A. airport Friday night to welcome his girlfriend Paris Hilton home from Australia, where she's been working for the past two months on the horror remake, 'House of Wax'. "I couldn't sleep all night mainly because I was making stuff for her, trying to be all romantic," Carter said. "I stayed up with my friends making her a gigantic card." June 7, 2004 - The Backstreet Boys' will mark the start of two comeback efforts this year: that of the group, of course, and that of the producer who led the charge during the '90s pop explosion. "We just got finished working with Max Martin again," an animated AJ McLean tells MTV News of the producer behind countless Backstreet, *NSYNC and Britney Spears hits. "He kind of went into hiding for a little bit, took a little break from the pop world and had a baby. June 7, 2004 - Riley writes "Not-like-you.com reports Ashlee Simpson was interviewed at the Kiss radio station in Austin, Texas, and the DJs mentioned the rumor that Nick flirted with her. But like always, they stretched the truth a bit (that is, if it was really true, which we don't know for sure). Here's part of the interview. 
DJ1: What about Nick Carter, or Carson Daly?
DJ2: We heard those two today. We heard --
ASHLEE: You heard I was dating Nick Carter?!
DJ2: Yeah.
DJ1: Yeah!

June 7, 2004 - elghato writes "Ana from BSBLatino (a fansite that gets news updates from the Backstreet Boys' management) reports that the rumor about Nick Carter possibly appearing on the soap opera General Hospital is not true. She also says that Nick will be at the 2004 MTV Movie Awards. The other guys are in Los Angeles, where Nick will rejoin them, as they are recording with Teddy Riley from Blackstreet as well as others."

June 7, 2004 - elghato writes "On Thursday, Us Weekly reported to 'Entertainment Tonight' that Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter had broken up with Paris Hilton because of trust issues. That obviously upset both Nick and Paris, because on Friday, they told 'ET' that they'd be attending the MTV Movie Awards together (walking the red carpet, as well), and that they did not break up."

June 3, 2004 - Rob Mills, aka Milsy of 'Australian Idol' was on the Kyle and Jackie O radio show to promote his new album 'Up All Night', due June 14th. Mills said his parents are behind his music career, and they talked about the romance he had with Paris Hilton. They tried to convince Mills to get a Britney Spears style wedding with Paris, but he wasn't keen to the idea. June 3, 2004 - According to the latest popbitch.com newsletter, Peaches is using the tourbus previously used by the Backstreet Boys, which features dozens of small stickers located atop cupboards, underneath the table, inside the drawers etc. All the stickers refer to Aaron Carter, saying things like "Aaron Carter has a mangina", and "Aaron Carter sucks alien co**," leading many to wonder who made up the stickers, Nick Carter's angry bandmates, Nick, or Aaron himself.

June 3, 2004 - syko04 writes "Entertainment Tonight reported that Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and Paris Hilton are no longer together. The new Us Weekly issue that comes out Friday says that Nick is telling friends he is fed up with Paris and has "trust issues". They also say that Nick was seen "flirting heavily" with Jessica Simpson's sister, Ashlee Simpson. Paris is still in Australia, her rep insists they're still together."
