February 13, 2006 - The Backstreet
Boys are back, though they might wish they weren't after some weird, wacky,
and rude questions. Watch the band struggle to name Australia's capitol,
trying to figure out the meaning of their 'Incomplete' lyric saying "empty
spaces fills me up with holes", and how they'd sweep the MTV girl off her
feet for Valentine's Day. It then got ugly when a reporter asked if their
band name was a sexual reference. Watch the brief clip from their Sydney
press conference from SMH.com.au.
February 13, 2006 - Hot Banditoz

February 13, 2006 - Labby
of the Kyle and Jackie O. show on 2Day FM was sent to the Backstreet Boys'
hotel in Sydney to interview the band. Kyle and Jackie complained about
how the Boys refused to take a cab to the station instead of forcing them
to do a remote. The guys talked about how they keep in touch with their
significant others while travelling the world, while Labby complained about
splitting up with his girlfriend and looked for the boyband for support...
though it was actually a set-up to get revenge for not coming into the
studio. Download and listen to the interview here.
February 13, 2006 - Cameron
Adams of the Herald Sun was on hand for the Backstreet Boys concert at
Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia on Thursday (February 2). Adams

their comeback (tellingly after a few solo careers tanked) has worked best
in Australia, so they've finally made the trip." Read more.
February 13, 2006 - Andrew
Murfett of The Age was on hand for the Backstreet Boys concert at Rod Laver
Arena in Melbourne, Australia on Thursday (February 2), before a sell-out
crowd of 12,000. "The crowd, overwhelmingly female, screamed in delight
at video montages showing the band's glory days," Murfett writes. "Although
there's now receding hairlines and expanding waistlines among the boys,
hits such as 'The One', 'Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely', 'Larger
than Life', 'Shape of My Heart', and 'I Want It That Way' had the crowd
screaming wildly." Read more.
February 13, 2006 - Stephen
Downie of the Daily Telegraph was on hand for the Backstreet Boys concert
at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney, Australia on Monday (January 30).
Downie writes, "Sure, their dancing may be kooky and Nick Carter looks
like he has been chowing down at McDonald's way too often, but there was
no denying they were still kings in the eyes of their screaming fans."

February 13, 2006 - Australian
Associated Press caught up with the Backstreet Boys at a photocall in Sydney,
Australia on Monday (January 30). Asked if the newly reformed group would
stay together, AJ McLean indicated they would continue to work on solo
projects but that more Backstreet albums were on the cards. "We are in
complete control now of our schedule and what we choose to do and not do,"
AJ said. "Once we finish this tour ... everyone is going to go their own
way ... and we are going to go back to doing another Backstreet Boys record
at some point. We are just trying to pace ourselves and let everybody have
a chance to do what they want to do because if each of us has success individually,
it only helps and benefits us as a unit." Read more, including a photo,

tour van."
February 5, 2006 - Pocholo
Concepcion of the Philippine Daily Inquirer caught up with AJ McLean for
a Q&A and asked the Backstreet Boys star what his lowest point was
during the period he was abusing drugs and alcohol. "During the 'Black
and Blue', tour I was drinking onstage," the 28-year-old explained. "Between
songs I was taking shots of tequila and Jack Daniel's. I would do cocaine
before going onstage. I was a mess. I'm on my third-and-a-half year of
being sober now. My life has turned around 360 degrees." Read more.
