March 11, 2004 - Cast and crew members of 'Lord of the Rings' were wearing good luck charms that they had given to one another. "I was given mine by Orlando Bloom," Sean Astin told Australia’s MX. "And that makes me the envy of a few million women." Co-star Ian McKellen slyly added, "And a few million men!"

February 23, 2004 - Sources tell Globe magazine Orlando Bloom is planning to ask Kate Bosworth to marry him. "Orlando likes to keep tight-lipped about his personal life, but he's made no secret of the fact that he's smitten with Kate and wants to marry her," a pal revealed. "They both celbrated their birthdays in January, but it would have been too obvious a time to propose, as would Valentine's Day. He wants to surprise her when she least expects it."

February 8, 2004 - Teen People magazine asked Orlando Bloom his most embarrassing moment. The actor responded, "I was on this little island and went kayaking one day. The kayak had a hole in the bottom and it started to sink! This guy in a boat [spotted me] and said, 'Hey, mon, you need a hand?' He had to [rescue] me!"
