January 28, 2001 - Ricky Martin has been nominated as Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Male Artist - Pop (Internet Only), and Favorite Artist - Latino (Internet Only) in the Seventh Annual Blockbuster Awards. The show will air April 11th on FOX.

January 26, 2001 - Ricky Martin has been nominated for Favorite Male Singer in the Kids' Choice Awards. Rosie O'Donnell will host the awards show on April 21 on Nickelodeon.

January 25, 2001 - Popbitch.com reports Ricky is confiding about hair color saying, "I'd rather be a blond, but I need to please my fans."

January 25, 2001 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports former teen queen Tiffany was fuming after Ricky Martin refused to sign an autograph for her during the Bush inaguaration. Apparently Ted's spies say he made her shove the autograph under the door of his dressing room.

January 24, 2001 - The New York Post reports Ricky Martin got $300,000 for his performance at the Inaugural's opening ceremonies. Ricky flew out to Paris after the show on the Bush's tab.

January 23, 2001 - Worldpop reports Ricky Martin is going to cover the Barry Manilow 1978 song Copacabana. The song is expected to be on Ricky's next album that he's starting to record.

January 21, 2001 - Groupiecentral.com is reporting on the American Music Awards about Ricky Martin where they reveal, "Ricky Martin is like a Latin version of a Ken doll. He's pretty, got a perpetual smile on his face, and useless to women."

January 21, 2001 - Thanks Crave. Open on Sky Digital reports comments from Christina's choreographer Tina Landon who says Ricky and Christina seemed reluctant to get close during their video shoot. Tina admits, "They're both more on the shy side. There's one scene you'll see them embracing but you know, they aren't flirtatious with each other - so when I was placing them, it was almost like children. It was like, 'uh, Christina, can you get just a little closer to Ricky? Uh, no honey, a little closer, could you get your hips on his hips?' It's really funny since they both got picked on for their over-the-top sexy videos. I had to practically shove them together for this one embrace scene. It was pretty funny."

January 21, 2001 - Ricky Martin is was dancing with President Bush during the Inaugural Opening Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington Thursday. Hopefully Bush can serve as chief executive better than he can dance! Hands in pockets?

January 20, 2001 - The New York Post's Cindy Adams reports Ricky Martin demanded a G-3 to fly into the Presidential Inauguration bash Thursday after organizers told him they'd booked a G-2. In addition, Ricky got 50 cases of Red Bull in the deal for his huge entourage, all for an 8 minute performance.

January 20, 2001 - Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera were discussed on eYada.com's Rush & Molloy show Friday where Rush claims the reason Christina was added to the song was few radio stations were willing to play the song as a Ricky solo due to low album sales, so Christina was called upon to bail him out in effect. January 13, 2001 - An orignal Ricky Martin painting by Allison Lefcort is bidding on ebay. The painting, item #540638341, is unbid at a pricey $6,000 and ends January 21st.

January 13, 2001 - Ricky is taking heat for his scheduled performance at next weeks inaugural celebration for US president-elect George W. Bush. Robi Rusa, who's written and produced several Martin songs laments, "This is a very partisan act. This is a president who would have people in his cabinet who would obstruct the exercise of civil rights, human rights, consumer rights, the right to choose,the right to be free of gun violence, and the right to a clean environment. This is a betrayal of everything that every Puerto Rican should stand for."

January 12, 2001 - Ricky Martin will perform at the inauguration party for US President elect George Bush in Washington.

January 10, 2001 - Gary Garver from the Howard Stern show was out at the American Music Awards Monday night and asked Ricky Martin, "Do you expect to fart much on stage tonight?" to which Martin replied, "No.. I don't do that type of thing." Ricky laughed and walked away saying "You suck.. This guy really sucks" after Gary asked, "Have you ever been attracted to another man?"

January 9, 2001 - Interesting quote from Michael Musto of the Village Voice this week... "practically every other word in Ricky Martin's hit songs was she. You know, "She bangs, she booms, she f***s, she sucks my d***, she does a mean salsa dance," and so on. All right, girl, we get it!"

January 7, 2001 - USA Weekend's Lorrie Lynch talked about what Ricky's been up to, saying he spent Christmas in India and Nepal because, "The spiritual side of the Catholic-reared Martin, nurtured with meditation and yoga breathing, co-exists with that of a wild adventurer who sky-dives to break from the norm."
