May 30, 2001 - Ricky Martin was featured on Monday night's replay of the World Music Awards in Monaco as he performed Nobody Wants to Be Lonely with Christina Aguilera as well as Loaded. Ricky also accepted awards for Worlds Best Selling Male Artist and Latin Male Artist.

May 28, 2001 - July's Vibe magazine features a big spread with Ricky Martin modeling new clothing lines. Ricky says, "Simplicity is sexy sometimes, but sexy is daring too."

May 26, 2001 - US Weekly reports Ricky Martin was spotted in his pajamas "goofing off with some of his band members in a hallway in the Crown Towers hotel in Melbourne, Australia."

May 25, 2001 - The New York Post's Liz Smith is reporting Carmen Electra has been hotly persuing Ricky Martin following their meeting at the World Music Awards. Liz reports Carmen has been sending him her lingerie and she's been attending almost all of his concerts. Ricky is said to be flattered but hasn't succumbed to her advances, instead concentrating on his career.

May 22, 2001 - The New York Post's Cindy Adams reports Ricky Martin was spotted with a cigarette and kinfolk, buying a Yankee cap which he put on p.d.q. at a W. 55th bodega.

May 13, 2001 - The New York Daily News reports Ricky Martin asked for set changes and other amenities all week long at the Miss Universe Pagent. A source groused, "You would have thought they were about to crown him."

May 10, 2001 - The New York Daily News reports Ricky Martin's former backup dancer Mecca Dyas revealed sketchy details about her relationship with Ricky. Dyas says "This gay stuff that keeps coming out, that is so annoying, because, I'm sorry, I know myself. God, Ricky digs women." Dyas wouldn't go into specific details though. Read more.

May 10, 2001 - Worldpop reports a Hong Kong court imposed a £585 fine on Cathay Pacific Airways after 19 Russian crew members were found on Ricky's private jet attempting to enter the territory without visas.

May 4, 2001 - Ricky Martin won World's Best Selling Pop Male Artist, World's Best Selling Latin Male Artist, and World's Best Selling Dance Male Artist at the World Music Awards in Monaco on Wednesday in Monaco. Ricky also performed Nobody Wants To Be Lonely with Christina Aguilera.

May 2, 2001 - The Los Angeles Times surveyed "22 of the most powerful executives in the record business" for comments on the future of top current musicians, including the Ricky Martin. Ricky was also singled out by US Navy Lt. Jeff Gordon who said, "People like Ricky Martin have no idea what they are talking about.
