March 25, 2001 - El Nuevo
Día reports Ricky Martin was in Los Angeles ahead of tonight's Academy
Awards to take part in various pre-Oscar parties. Among the stops that
Ricky was scheduled to hit were the Peter Jackson party, who directed and
produced 'Lord of the Rings', he also was expected to hit Morton's restaurant
for the Vanity Fair party, and a party at Moomba held by Elton John. Read
more.
March
22, 2002 - Well with the latest news that Ricky Martin's album is being
pushed back perhaps until November, getting the most pop music sales in
2002 doesn't appear likely, but he won the survey anyways. Christina Aguilera,
who's pushed out album has tested the nerves of her fans, finished second.
March 21, 2002 - According
to Ricky Martin fan site RMTEE, the singer's manager Jose Vega announced
officially yesterday that the new CD will be in English and won't be released
till October or November. For fan reaction, read here.
March 19, 2002 - The story
we posted the other day about Ricky Martin arriving in Sweden last week
has been translated. Apparently he's in the country to record for his new
album and he's working with Swedish starproducers. Ricky said, "I love
this country." Meanwhile, Britney Spears arrived in the country earlier
today to promote her new film 'Crossroads.' Read more.
March 16, 2002 - Aftonbladet.se
has a photo of Ricky Martin arriving in Stockholm and the accompanying
article again mentions Britney Spears, something about her 'Crossroads'
premiere, as well as Ricky being in town for what appears to be promotional
appearances and some sort of concert. Check out the picture and article
(in Swedish) here.
March 15, 2002 - There's
a couple of articles on some European sites that may have some news of
importance, but I can't read Swedish or Dutch. Aftonbladet.se has an article
about Britney Spears and Ricky Martin here,
while Telegraaf.nl has multiple articles about Britney, perhaps because
she was scheduled to make appearances in Holland before pulling out of
her European promo tour early, or so reports suggest. Those stories can
be found here.
March 10, 2002 - This according
to a message board posting at TSARM: "Ricky Martin is almost finished working
on his new CD to launch shortly, but the surprise of the year would be
his launching of a new his new CD but a sports magazine. According the
the magazine DIGITAL FAME, the Puerto Rican will launch a sports magazine
of the first order. Even though he won't be participating directly, he
will support it with special reports and Money! The project is a dream
of an old friend of his, and he couldn't help but participate. They say
that the name of the magazine will be chosen by the interpreter of 'She
Bangs'."
March 6, 2002 - Ricky Martin
was invited by Sir Elton John and Billy Joel to share the stage with them
at the concert in Florida and to join them for a rendition of "Great Balls
of Fire". The megastar of "She Bangs" raised the scene before the euphoric
and ecstatic audience at the National Car Rental Center in Florida. This
is the second public appearance after taking a year to rest and compile
material for his next album which is to be released in the second part
of this year."
March 1, 2002 - Fans of Ricky
Martin have pushed him to the top again in our latest poll asking who they
think is the sexiest male pop star, getting about 31% of the approximately
7600 votes. Second was Taylor Hanson, while O-Town's Dan Miller was third.
The new poll asks which pop artist do you expect to have the best selling
album of 2002 in the U.S. Ricky is amongst the nominees. Vote here.
