Sun reports that more than 3000 screaming fans greeted Latin pop star Ricky
Martin at his only Melbourne public appearance on Wednesday, with some
waiting up to nine hours to catch a glimpse of the Puerto Rican singer
at Highpoint shopping centre. "It's been a long time since I was here and

31, 2003 - The Herald Sun reports Ricky Martin is back with on/off girlfriend
Mexican TV star Rebecca de Alba, arriving with her in Melbourne over the
weekend. Martin, who did his sightseeing in disguise, was coy about discussing
his partner. "I never talk about my love life," he said. "All I have to
say is that it feels really good." As for any plans on becoming a father
soon, Martin said, "Let's leave that to a higher power than mine." Read

reports residents of a West Hollywood highrise were awakened at midnight
when two bulletproof SUVs surrounded by motorcycle copes with sirens wailing
pulled up in from of their building. With tenants fleeing the lobby, they
learned it was only Ricky Martin and eight bodyguards coming their to visit
a pal.

is nominated for Song of the Year for 'Tal Vez' for The 4th Annual Latin
Grammys which will air on September 3rd at 9pm on CBS.
July 20, 2003 - Ricky Martin
expressed his grief at Celia Cruz's passing at the age of 77. The singer
released the following statement, "Her music not only touched my soul,
but it influenced generations of singers and songwriters. Her vibrant sprit
and positive energy can never be duplicated. We will always miss her."
Cruz died on Wednesday at her home in New Jersey after a battle with brain

has professed his affection for India, and now action hero Suneil Shetty
says the next movie he produces might have a song by the Latin sensation.
"I want to use my marketing strength to create a new global awareness of
Indian cinema," Shetty said. "For instance, in my second production Rakht,
I plan to get Ricky Martin to sing a song. The fact that such an icon has
agreed to be part of our cinema shows how big Bollywood is becoming." Read

That helps to fight child pornography. He was also asked what's the difference
between Ricky Martin the performer and Ricky the person. He said they were
the same. He doesn't wear any mask when he is performing and that its just
