reports Ricky Martin demanded 40 rooms for himself and his entourage at
the five-star Piatra Mare near Bucharest in Romania, during a stay after
a recent concert there. Martin's requests included mineral water at room
temperature and a private chef.

August 25, 2003 - The Las
Vegas Sun reports Ricky Martin might perform at The Colosseum at Caesars
Palace in September, possibly with Celine Dion. Apparently the singer made
the winner's presentation during the German edition of 'Star Search' last
week and according to an insider who was there, Martin "was talking about
performing with Celine in Vegas in September."
August 25, 2003 - Mehrunisa
writes "Ricky Martin was invited as the godfather of Brazilian version
of the show 'Popstars'. Speaking in perfect Portuguese, Ricky talked to
the contestants about his own experiences in show biz and in life, gave
his evaluation, encouragement and weekly advice to the contestants thrugh

August 21, 2003 - Australian
percussionist and music teacher Michael Carmona’s career reached a new
high earlier this month when he was invited to play with Ricky Martin for
promotional gigs on television programs Rove Live and Micallef Tonight.
"Ricky Martin’s percussionist has to be able to do all independent stuff,"
Michael told Matt Cunningham of Berwick News. "You might be playing congas
with your left hand and bells with your right." Michael describes Martin
as a good, down to earth guy. "He’s got this air about him when he walks
that I suppose he has to have, but he’s a really nice guy," he said. Read

was photographed holding hands with girlfriend Rebecca De Alba while watching
Real Madrid play the Thailand national team on Sunday (August 10) in Bangkok.

spoke out about the recent SARS outbreak in Asia telling reporters at a
news conference on Sunday (August 3) in Hong Kong that he wanted people
to "enjoy life as it comes," despite "this pain that we all went through,
not only the people here in Hong Kong, or the people in some parts of Asia.
The entire planet suffered this." He added, "We know about today. We don't
know about tomorrow. So just let's embrace each other with love and peace

that Ricky Martin turned from diplomatic to curt when a journalist in Singapore
asked during a press conference on Friday how he felt whenever the media
questions him on his sexuality. "Do you feel like a better journalist because
of asking this question?" Martin asked the reporter, turning the tables
on her and deftly sidestepping the question. Read more.
August 9, 2003 - The Singapore
Tourism Board honored Ricky Martin by naming a yellow orchid speckled with
crimson spots after him, reports the Associated Press. "Hello, sexy, how
are you?" the 31-year-old singer asked the dainty flower during the naming
ceremony Friday at Singapore's downtown Botanical Gardens. "You're supposed

August 7, 2003 - Mehrunisa
writes "Univision.com has pictures from Ricky Martin's new video for his
third single 'Juramento' ('Oath'), from his latest CD 'Almas Del Silencio'.
The clip was directed by Joseph Khan, who worked in the past with artists
like Enrique Iglesias and U2, and was filmed in Mirage Drive Lake, California.

August 7, 2003 - Jenna Dewan,
ex-girlfriend of *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake spoke with The Sun about
getting up close and personal in Ricky Martin's new video 'Juramento',
where she plays his lover. "Ricky is great to work with," Dewan said. "He
made the long hours of shooting so much fun."
