"We feel very fortunate to aid the most vulnerable population. This relief effort is only achievable by forging alliances. February 13, 2006 - Laura Emerick of The Chicago Sun-Times reviewed Ricky Martin's performance at the Chicago Theatre on Thursday (February 2). Emerick writes, "Maybe time and trends have moved on, but Martin's still partying like it's 1999. His state of the art staging at the Chicago Theatre offered elaborate video projections, lighting effects and nonstop action, especially by Martin, who twirled and whirled like a Tasmanian devil, executing cartwheels, splits, hand-stands, and even flamenco and capoeira flourishes. February 13, 2006 - Ricky Martin is considering a one-time appearance on the 'General Hospital', the first show he ever worked on as an actor. "The show gave me a huge break and I like the idea of returning to the start of your career," Martin explained to Neil Sean of Sky News. "I still have great affection for the show."

Bush. The bipartisan bill assigns $361 billion for the next two years to help identify and assist victims that had been kidnapped, exploited, enslaved by their employment, trafficked involuntarily or falsely incarcerated by means of fraud or coerciveness, as well as sexual commercial exploitation, sexual tourism, prostitution or pornography, being abused to the degree of being murdered. "The signing of this bipartisan bill reflects compassion, compromise and awareness. Child sex traffickers use their victims as merchandise that they unscrupulously sell and which consumers submit to the most despicable acts, stealing them of their childhood, their innocence," Martin said. February 5, 2006 - Mark Lowry of the Fort Worth Star Telegram reviewed Ricky Martin's performance at Grand Prairie's Nokia Theatre on Thursday night (January 19). Lowry writes, "Backed by a lively rhythm section on a set surrounded with flashy lights, Martin worked the handstands, martial-arts kicks, torso robotics and, of course, his patented multijointed pelvic swivels. The guy rarely stopped moving. And as soon as you thought one of his frequent absences from the stage was to take a breather, he'd emerge wearing a new costume. February 5, 2006 - Ricky Martin's publicists issued a press release on Wednesday (January 18) to announce the singer's 'One Night Only' tour schedule, which kicked off Sunday (January 15) in El Paso, Texas. Gargano writes that the show "was hosted by two markedly different frontmen. The first was tentative and hesitant, as if he wasn't sure whether the stage was the place he wanted to be. The second was charismatic and dynamic, working as if he owned the stage and everyone in front of it. While the crowd shrieked and squealed every bit of the way, it wasn't until the midway point in the set that Martin truly began to earn the adoration." Read more.

January 18, 2006 - Neil Sean of Sky News reports that after Ricky Martin's attempt to update his sound by collaborating with Amerie and Fat Joe on 'I Don't Care', the Latin star is going back to basics, enlisting the help of Dido.
