June 29, 2002 - Mike Walker of the National Enquirer reports Salma Hayak, who just did a movie with Antonio Banderas, was approached by a female fan who wanted to know how big Antonio's penis was. Salma got upset, told the woman she'd have to ask Melanie Griffith, and walked off.

June 25, 2002 - Salma Hayek took part in a march in Washington DC on Friday to denounce domestic violence in the Latino community. "Sadly, domestic abuse has become almost a tradition in certain sectors of the Latino community," she said in a speech at the Capitol. "Thirty-four percent of Latinas have experienced domestic violence, and 64% of undocumented immigrants say they are too afraid to speak up when they are abused."

June 12, 2002 - Penélope Cruz tells Elle magazine she likes to go out with her pal Salma Hayek wearing identical outfits, to goof on celebrity-gawkers. "People will walk naked in Los Angeles and nobody cares," says Hayek. "But two people dressed the same? They said, 'Oh my God! Do you realize Penélope Cruz is right over there wearing the same thing?!'"

June 6, 2002 - Salma Hayek is interested in playing the role of Cuban Ana Martinez, whose selling movie rights to her life. Martinez sued the Cuban government in 1999 winning a $27 million sexually assault judgement after her husband disappeared from Miami to announce in Cuba that he'd been a double-agent with the Castro government. Martinez doesn't think Salma is cuban looking enough, and would rather see Gloria Estefan play the role... Who of course isn't much of an actress.
