July 23, 2003 - While Salma Hayek and Ed Norton still haven't confirmed a split, Us Weekly reports that behavior by Ed seems to indicate that's the case. Norton attended a benefit at Grand Central Station where he "was very social", according to an eyewitness, "talking to big groups, some socialites." A source says Norton has enjoyed "being a little playboy." Hayek has maintained a low profile promoting The Maldonado Miracle, which is set to air in October on Showtime.

July 23, 2003 - Edward Norton and Salma Hayek's suspected break-up has been confirmed - by a child actor. While no word of confirmation or denial has come from Hayek, 36, or Norton, 33, 11-year-old Daryl Sabara spilled the beans on Monday while promoting his new movie Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, in which Hayek co-stars. While bragging about how "buff" he was from weightlifting to American TV host Matt Lauer on the Today show, he declared, "I was showing off (to Hayek), you know? She isn't with Ed Norton anymore." Lauer swiftly interrupted, "You're going to get yourself in trouble," before changing the subject. Hayek's publicist has yet to comment. 

July 17, 2003 - Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com reports that a few days before Ed Norton was spotted on the town with David Blaine and friends, he took in a performance of The Exonerated off Broadway. Those in the audience heard him talking about his breakup with Salma Hayek. "He said it had been coming for a long time," said a source. "But he definitely said it was over."

July 14, 2003 - A source tells Us Weekly that the split of Salma Hayek and Ed Norton may have been over children, as she wants them, and he does not. "Edward enjoys the part life. He does not want to give that up," a pal revealed.

July 4, 2003 - The New York Post reports Edward Norton and Salma Hayek have split. Norton was out on the town the other night with an unidentified "gorgeous blonde." The two started their evening off at Soho House with pal David Blaine and ended up at Caffe Reggio on MacDougal Street. "Ed was introducing the woman as his girlfriend. You couldn't find a more different-looking woman from Salma," a source revealed.

June 10, 2003 - In the wake of the New York Post's item that Edward Norton has been hitting New York nightspots without fiance Salma Hayek, friends say the pair have parted ways, though they hope it's only temporary.
