August 30, 2002 - The New
York Post reports Shania Twain is saying so long to her manager of six
years, Jon Landau, after she accused him of spending too much attention
on his other client, Bruce Springsteen. "Shania threw a fit," one insider
said. "Her new album is coming out in November, her single drops on Sept.
23, and she felt he was spending too much time with Bruce and his 'Rising'
tour." Landau tried to talk to the demanding diva, but when Twain tried
to cut his rates from 20 percent to 10 percent, he "told her to go scratch."
The outraged music industry insider added: "Jon helped her sell 30 million
albums, and she repays him by trying to skimp on his salary - nice, huh." Twain
has now signed with Q Prime management - a heavy metal company that represents
Metallica, Def Leppard and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. "This should be interesting,"
our source added. A rep for Landau Management said: "It was a joint decision
among friends to part ways."
