March 28, 2003 - George Jones acknowledges Shania Twain is Canadian and points out that he means no disrespect, but he can't help but blame her for the genre's demise. "They still call it country music and that makes me madder than anything. Because to me they are using country music as a stepping stone," he told the Calgary Sun. "Shania Twain, and people like that, they don't care any more about country music than Joe Blow from Kokomo."

March 19, 2003 - Blender magazine caught up with Fabolous in their April issue. Asked what type of music he hates, Fab said, "Country. We don't hear a lot of country music in the 'hood. But for some reason, I like Shania Twain."

February 18, 2003 - David Browne of Entertainment Weekly sounds a sour note on the future of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Browne writes, "The apathetic public response to both 'Charmbracelet' and Whitney Houston's 'Just Whitney...' confirms that these two longstanding, long-screaming divas have met their expiration date." He added, "The lesson to learn from all this chaos would appear to be obvious: You can only take your control-freaky, money-flaunting, power-tripping behavior so far before it all comes crashing down around you.
