reports if there was ever any doubt about Shania Twain's career prospects
after the Canadian songbird took time off to start a family, the success
of her album 'Up!' and current tour have put those concerns to rest. Twain
finishes 2003 as the top country artist of the year and the top female
country artist. She also comes in at No. 3 on the year-end Billboard 200

Twain this week became the first ever artist to sell more then 10 million
copies of three consecutive albums.
December 15, 2003 - The Las
Vegas Review Journal reports Shania Twain put her boot in her mouth with
an inadvertent swipe at Las Vegas during a news conference Wednesday at
the Billboard Music Awards. Asked whether she has considered doing a Las
Vegas headliner deal similar to those of Celine Dion or Elton John, Twain
ruffled some feathers with the remark, "If I ever did that, it would be
because I'm old or something." Her remark drew audible gasps from the roomful
of 50 to 60 media members. "What was so controversial about that?" said
Twain, semishocked by the negative reaction to the inference that Vegas
is a boneyard for past-their-prime entertainers.

Boys, Carmen Electra, Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro, *NSYNC star
JC Chasez, Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore, Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees, and
Shania Twain were on hand for The 2003 Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday

December 7, 2003 - It will
be a battle pitting R&B/hip-hop against country for favorite male and
female musical performer at the 30th People's Choice Awards. Country artist
Tim McGraw will face rappers Eminem and 50 Cent in the male category, while
Beyoncé will vie for the female honor against Faith Hill and Shania
Twain. The awards will be broadcast live January 11th on CBS. Check out
